The Cloud Database by Interworks, is a highly
available, scalable and multi-tenant database service
which assists companies in reducing management
overhead.
The Cloud Database is the PaaS offering, by Interworks, for providing cloud-based
databases, powered by "Microsoft SQL Server 2014 Web Edition".
Esssentially, it enables users to easily deploy and provision multiple databases using flexible
resource allocation according to their actual ongoing needs.
Database operators can quickly start managing provisioned databases using the same tools
they have been using for on-premise databases.
Cloud Databases can be
easily set up and managed through the "My WorkSpace" tab, available in
Interworks marketplace.
"My WorkSpace" enables operators to create database user accounts, associate these with
databases and grant them different levels of access via Security Roles (e.g. db_owner,
db_datareader, db_datawriter).
The ability to monitor the size of databases' data file and log file is also provided and an email
alert will be automatically triggered when disk space reaches a warning or error percentage
limit.
Moreover, the available maintenance tools allow additional database operations such as
"Backup", "Restore" and "Change Owner".
Cloud Databases can also be managed using Microsoft SQL Management Studio by
specifying the required database connection information.
Working
with
Cloud Databases allows you to reduce management overhead of your corporation while
taking advantage of Interworks Data Center storage systems comprised of high level Storage
Area Network (SAN) equipment, featuring both Fibre Channel and iSCSI connection protocols,
ensuring high data protection by the use of standard RAID disk array configurations as well as
advanced network RAID levels for even greater protection, availability and expandability.
Does that sounds interesting enough?
