Definition
Any two nonadjacent angles that lie on opposite sides of a transversal and that are
exterior to the lines.
Any two nonadjacent angles that lie on opposite sides of a transversal and that are
interior to the lines.
A line segment drawn from any vertex of the triangle perpendicular to the line
containing its opposite side.
A ray that divides an angle into two adjacent congruent angles.
Angle - Side - Angle
Two angles the sum of whose measures is 90 degrees.
An educated guess; an unproven hypothesis based on observation,
experimentation, data collection, etc.
Having the same size and shape
Any two nonadjacent angles that lie on same side of a transversal and that are
interior to the lines.
To draw a figure using only a compass and a straightedge.
Corresponding Parts of Congruent Triangles are Congruent
A polyhedron with six square faces. A cube (or hexahedron) is one of the five
platonic solids.
To create a figure using a straightedge.
A line segment that connects two non-consecutive vertices of a polygon.
Having the same distance.
A triangle with three congruent sides.
An angle formed by a side of a polygon and the extension of an adjacent side.
A triangle that has at least two congruent sides.
A quadrilateral with two distinct pairs of equal adjacent sides.
A line can be thought of as a connected set of infinitely many points. It extends
infinitely far in two opposite directions. A line has infinite length, zero width, and
zero height.
The mirror line used in a reflection that reflects a shape exactly on top of itself.
Sometimes called a line of symmetry or axis of symmetry.
The part of a line that is between two points called endpoints.
Any two adjacent angles whose non-common sides form a line.
A line segment that connects any vertex of a triangle to the midpoint of the
opposite side.
Two or more coplanar lines that do not intersect. Parallel line segments or rays are
line segments or rays that are subsets of parallel lines.
A quadrilateral in which both pairs of opposite sides are parallel.
Two lines or line segments that intersect to form right angles.
A line, segment or ray that is perpendicular to a line segment at its midpoint.
Usually visualized as a dot representing a non-dimensional location in space.
A statement assumed to be true without proof.
A polygon with 4 sides.
A ray is the part of a straight line that starts at a point and goes in one direction
forever.
A parallelogram containing one right angle; a quadrilateral with four right angles.
A transformation that moves a point to another point that is an equal distance on
the other side of the line. The line is called the mirror. The mirror is the right
bisector of the line joining a pre-image to its image.

Vertical Angles
A parallelogram with two adjacent congruent sides; a quadrilateral with four
congruent sides.
An angle formed by two perpendicular lines, the measure of which is 90°.
A transformation that moves points and shapes by turning them around a fixed
point through a fixed angle. The fixed point is called the center of rotation. The
fixed angle is called the angle of rotation.
Side – Angle – Side
A line divides a plane into two sides. If two items are on the same side then line is
not between them.
To create free hand with only a pencil.
A rectangle with all sides congruent.
Side – Side – Side
An angle that measures 180°.
Two angles the sum of whose measures is 180 degrees.
A general statement that requires proof.
A one-to-one mapping of points in the plane to points in the plane.
A transformation where every point moves the same direction through the same
distance.
A line that intersects two (or more) other lines in distinct points.
A quadrilateral with exactly one pair of parallel sides.
The point of intersection of the two rays that form the sides of the angle.
The two nonadjacent angles formed when two lines intersect.

Line segment whose endpoints are A and B.
Ray with one endpoint at A and continues through B forever.
Infinitely continues line passing through the points A and B.
Distance between the points A and B.
Angle formed by the points A, B, and C and where B is the vertex (or point on the angle).
Measure of the angle formed by the points A, B, and C.
Triangle whose points on the angles are A, B, and C.
