Historical Background

The historical background:
Muhammad was born 570; his father died before he was born; his mother died when
he was 7; his grandfather cared for him for two years and then died; At 8 years of age
he was an orphan being raised by an uncle. He became a merchant, and then married
Kadijah a rich merchant woman. In 610 he claims that the Angel Gabriel met him in a
cave outside Mecca and he claimed that is when the revelations of the Quran began.
