Guaranteed safety of tested low voltage
switchgear assemblies complete with Mitsubishi
Electric low voltage switchgear
The challenge for designers and installers of low voltage switchgear and
control gear assemblies is how to meet the rigorous approvals for user
protection and system safety under normal operating conditions, for
example the case of short-circuit or over-voltage, and in general against
misuse. These approvals, defined under the EN 61439 standard and ASTA
certification, take into account that personnel of varying skill levels may
have access to the panel. To make the designers life easier there is now a
tested alternative that delivers preassembled cabinets, built around type
tested low voltage switchgear from Mitsubishi Electric, offering ASTA
certification and conformance to EN 61439 as standard.
Mitsubishi Electric offers a full range of type tested low voltage switchgear
products up to 5000A, including air circuit breakers and moulded case circuit
breakers offer users an easy selection and simple assembly of components for
energy distribution.
Now the German enclosure manufacturer Sedotec has developed the Vamocon
modular cabinet program for low voltage switchgear, enabling quick planning,
flexible installation and reliable energy distribution for industrial plants and
building applications. When using the Vamocon system the completed assembly
meets the most stringent safety standards, eliminating the need for the customer
to obtain further conformance approvals.
In developing the Vamocon system, Sedotec worked with leading switchgear
manufacturers including Mitsubishi Electric to ensure its cabinets would meet the
needs of end users for reliable energy distribution, with finished assemblies that
demonstrate the needed levels of personal and operational safety.
Vamocon assemblies with Mitsubishi Electric switchgear have successfully
passed tests as a low voltage switchgear assembly, complete with design
verification, by testing according to EN 61439-2. Users of Vamocon assemblies
can be confident that all system components – including the cabinet, control gear,
switchgear and safety devices – have been tested to meet the required levels of
safety.
The Vamocon system supports all construction forms from 1 to 4b, with standing
versions from free-standing single cubicle to side-by-side and corner units, or
back-to-back arrays with a shared main busbar system. Two heights and a
variety of options allow customers to create solutions that precisely match the
application requirements.
Mitsubishi Electric offers a complete solution for line and load side distribution,
providing users with the highest levels of quality, safety and reliability.
Mitsubishi’s low voltage air circuit breakers can be used as the main circuit
breakers of power distribution systems for buildings, factories, ships and more, in
addition they realise high-level circuit monitoring and friendly networking. They
are available in three frame sizes, offering high breaking capacity in an extremely
compact package. They carry international approvals for industrial and marine
applications. Options include enhanced overload control, network connectivity
and energy consumption monitoring.
Mitsubishi Electric’s moulded case circuit breakers include the WSS series –
among the smallest MCCBs available. Intelligent breaking technology
guarantees high reliability and improved circuit protection, with faster circuit
breaking speed. The WSS breakers are available in 3- and 4-pole models, with
versions for fixed or plug-in installation. They meet national and international
protection ratings according to VDE, EN and IEC standards.
