L.O. To reduce a fraction to its simplest
form.
.I can reduce a fraction to its smallest form.
I can recognise the greatest common multiple.
I can recognise a common multiple that I can divide both the numerator and denominator with.
Lesson 1

Practice Questions:
Simplify the following fractions
a)
e)
b)
f)
c)
g)
d)
h)
Remember you
can only divide
by a common
factor!!!
Simplifying fractions is the opposites
instead of multiplying the numerator
and the denominator by the same
number you divide it until you cant
divide it anymore.

18.11.15
To consolidate what we have learned in decimals.
I can add decimals together.
I can make 1 by counting the tenths I have coloured.
I can follow rules of a game. .
18.11.15
To consolidate what we have learned in decimals
Everyone with have ten boxes to start, and in these boxes are 10
boxes.
18.11.15
To consolidate what we have learned in
decimals
Every pair with all have 10 cards with 10
fraction on them like this. You have to
convert them to decimals. Record this in
your copy book.
Step 1- Place all the cards face down, turn one over convert
it to a decimal and record in copy book e.g I pick up 6/10 I
would write.
0.6 + ___=
You also need to colour that amount on your first tens box.
18.11.15
To consolidate what we have learned in decimals
• Step 2- The next person turns over one
card and does the same- coverts to a
decimal and starts their number
sentence in their book and colours their
box.
• Step 3 back to the first person- turn
over another card, convert it and then
add them together, how many does it
equal? For example 0.6 + 0.3= 0.9.
18.11.15
To consolidate what we have learned in decimals
• Your aim is to get the answer 1 before
everyone else.
• If you do not get one first time, play
again. If you do keep a score of who
gets 1.
• Keep playing till you have no more boxes
to colour.
Enjoy 
