The four main functional areas are:

ROLE OF THE SALES
DEPARTMENT
 Firms
who produce goods or provide
a service need to sell that product to
the customers.
 The
Sales Department deals with
customer enquiries, process orders
and handle complaints.
ACTIVITIES OF THE SALES
DEPARTMENT

out market research to find out
what customers want.
 Improve
existing products;
 Develop
new products;
 Determine
suitable prices
 Advertising;
 Sales
Promotions;
 Sending
 Website.

AFTER MARKETING?

the marketing elements of the
sales department have been
successful they should receive
orders.

may receive a letter of enquiry
from a potential customer first.

department will send out a price
list, catalogue or quotation.

they receive an order form, it
