Grisly and Wry Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
The sweet taste of revenge is deliciously re-envisioned in this production of the Tony
Award-winning musical thriller brimming with murderous "barber"-ism and culinary crime.
Living legend Stephen Sondheim cooks up a musical masterpiece in one of most darkly
humorous and stomach-turning operatic achievements to date. In Victorian England, Sweeney
Todd (Zane Johnston), a barber arrested under false charges, seeks payback on those who
destroyed his life with the help of friend Mrs. Lovett (Lindsey Larson), the resourceful owner of a
pie shop. Featuring such songs as "Johanna", "Not While I'm Around", and "The Worst Pies in
London", audiences will shriek in delight as they "attend the tale of Sweeney Todd."
Sweeny Todd is directed and choreographed by Justin Huertas, age 20 who played the
Leading Player in last year’s KIDSTAGE production of Pippin, with musical direction by
Zachary Orts; set design by Jac Roberts; lighting design by Joey Bennett who designed last
summer’s production of Pippin and Jungle Book KIDS this past winter; and costume design by
Kati Dawson, who designed costumes for Pippin last summer. See detailed cast list below.
