Introduction
A lot of people suffer from metabolism deficiency which can cause the serious disease
such as cancer. Somehow it can cause depression in lots of people as well as fatigue and
difficulty to concentrate. Some people complain they feel really cold at all the times. Some other
is complaining about digestion that all cause by thyroid problem. The thyroid gland is a small
butterfly-shaped gland that wraps around the windpipe just below the Adam’s apple ( ). The
thyroid takes dietary iodine from the blood and use it for making iodine contain hormones which
its call thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3). They thyroid will store this hormones and when
body needs them it will release them. One of the most health problems caused by thyroid its
thyroid cancer.
Cancer is caused by kind of cell disorder, and later on can cause the other health problems.
Cancer begins when genes which normally control cell division, growth and repair are damaged
through mutation. These genes can cause these cells to grow and divide uncontrollably, and
destroying the neighbor healthy cells.
People usually don’t understand, disorder of thyroid gland can cause an amazing variety of
health problems. Thyroid gland produces hormones which there are really important in human’s
body. Healthy Thyroid glands produce just about hormones that body needs for metabolism. But
if the gland becomes diseased it can produce too much thyroxine which can cause
Hyperthyroidism, in the other hand it can produce too little thyroxine which can cause
Hypothyroidism. So one of the disease can cause by thyroid disorder is thyroid carcinoma which
its thyroid cancer.
Method and Material

In this situation, one of the most common test should be the TSH test, and checking on the
level of thyroid hormone. In this matter thyroid disease affect nearly 20 million people in the
united states and are found in both sexes-male and female- but more in women. People who
received the x-ray treatment for cancer of the head and neck may eventually become
hypothyroid. People with thyroid cancer have many treatment options. Depending on the type
and stage, thyroid cancer may be treated with surgery, radioactive iodine, hormone treatment,
external radiation, or chemotherapy. Some patients receive a combination of treatments.
(medicine.net). one of the common treatments is surgery on thyroid cancer. During the surgery
may remove all or part of the thyroid. The type of surgery depends on the type and stage of
thyroid cancer, the size of the nodule, and the patient's age. It can be total thyroidectomy or
lobotomy.

Total thyroidectomy is surgery which they remove the entire thyroid is called a
total thyroidectomy which they remove the thyroid through an incision in the neck. Nearby
lymph nodes are sometimes removed, too. If the pathologist finds cancer cells in the lymph
nodes, it means that the disease could spread to other parts of the body. In a small number of
cases, therefore they remove other tissues in the neck that have been affected by the cancer. Some
patients who have a total thyroidectomy also receive radioactive iodine or external radiation
therapy which it will kill the rest of cancer cell which it might be during surgery spread out to the
other part of body.
Lobotomy—some patients with papillary or follicular thyroid cancer may be treated with
lobotomy which they remove the lobe with the cancerous nodule. Doctor will also remove the
part of the remaining thyroid tissue or nearby lymph nodes. Some patients who have a lobotomy
receive radioactive iodine therapy or additional surgery to remove remaining thyroid tissue. The
study shows that in the general, 12.5 percent of 16,500 wives evaluate developed thyroid disease

People don’t understand that “it’s a big deal for each person to screen their hormone function
by taking a TSH test and control the level of hormones in humans body” .( Neergaard Lauran)
In other hands, 60 percent of pesticides used today have been shown to affect the thyroid
gland’s production of T3 and T4 hormones. They actually found that regarding to exposure to
stress, radiation and pollutants have been known to increase person’s risk of developing thyroid
problems. The study shows that pregnant women with an underactive thyroid increase the risk of
having children with lower IQs. Also the new research found that even a little hypothyroidism
can raise cholesterol level in adults.
Result
After all researching, they found two big categories which it’s leading people to understand
better on the thyroid deficiency topic. If someone has hypothyroidism, they might overtaken to
the puffy eyes and face, goiter, weight gain, dry skin, brittle nail, heavy menstrual periods and
etc. Hypothyroidism is the easiest thyroid disease to treat. People will take pill to provide a
synthetic thyroid hormones, they work safe and quickly.
In the other side, someone with hyperthyroidism could be suffering from some other signs
such as rapid heartbeat, weight loss, increasing sweating, diarrhea, scant menstrual periods, warm
and moist palms, nervousness and bulging eyes. Hyperthyroidism is happen when thyroid release
extra of hormones. People will suffer from have a too much metabolism that is running wild.
Discussion
Many women are at high risk. Endocrinologist said that most thyroid diseases run in families,
and women should periodically get a TSH assay if they knew it’s run in family history then they
should promote to request the TSH test at least once a year.
Commonly, radioactive iodine and surgery it’s the result of underactive thyroid and treatable
by tablet once a day but in the other hand people think why even should be happen. Nowadays,
the iodine deficiency is no longer a problem because by getting enough iodine in people food,
they actually decreased the thyroid problem in people. Result of underactive or overactive thyroid
will cause the thyroid cancer which it can be cure. In the all of test that they had showed that lack
of iodine can cause of thyroid disorder and not knowing that would be lead to the thyroid
carcinoma which it is medical name of thyroid cancer.
