Job Developer
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
 Possess ability to use marketing techniques and make contact to potential employers for the purposes
of job placement of participants.
 Possess excellent presentation and verbal communication skills either 1:1 or in small groups.
Communicate with potential employers and with participants using communication methods necessary
for successful job placement.
 Meet pre-set target statistics for number of placements per month to secure adequate funding for
employment services department.
 Conduct “Employment Preparation” to prepare participants for their job search activities.
 Assist “employee” and employer with the employment laws related to Americans with Disabilities Act
and reasonable accommodations.
 Acts as liaison between UCP, “employee” and employer.
 Maintains up-to-date recordkeeping and data collection for each program
participant as required by UCP policy and procedures, referral agencies, and
funding sources.
 Serves as advocate and supports self-advocacy as it relates to the program
participants treatment in compliance with all federal, state and local
employment laws and regulations during employment search and placement
process.
 Provides intervention services as needed to maintain “employees” employment.
QUALIFICATIONS
 Associates Degree in related field preferred. Experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree or two
years of related college credits; two years of employment experience related to the duties and
responsibilities of the position.
 Experience with recruitment sales, human resources and/or successful employment placement services.
 Must possess and maintain reliable transportation sufficient to get to and from a variety of worksites
with in Stanislaus County.
 Must possess and maintain a valid California Driver’s license and automobile insurance and provide
proof of both.
 Must be able to pass a drug screening as well as a background check.
 Must be legally eligible to work in the United states of America.
 Must have at least three years successful work experience and be able to demonstrate knowledge of
good basic work habits and skills.
 Possess good written and verbal communication skills using proper grammar, punctuation and spelling.
 Possess Basic First Aid and CPR certification and/or be willing to obtain certifications.
 Possess basic knowledge of or ability to learn:
 Americans with Disability Act regulations
 Department of Rehabilitation requirements for supported employment
 Assistive technology
RESPONSIBILITY:
Janitorial Job Coach
1. Make appropriate decisions regarding the janitorial crews performance and behavior during their
variety of work tasks.
2. Adhere to the Janitorial Job Coaching policies and procedures and UCP Handbook.
3. Provide accurate and informative facts about the janitorial crew members work
performance/behaviors.
4. Report any janitorial crew members issues or situation s immediately to the Job Coaching
Supervisor and/or Program Director of Employment Services. Any issues regarding equipment
(i.e., janitorial equipment, tools, supplies) will be reported to the Job Coach Supervisor and/or
Program Director of Employment Services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must possess and maintain a valid California Drivers license, car insurance, and the ability to get
to work on time.
2. Must be eligible to work in the United States.
3. Must be a High School graduate and have attended an accredited college or university and taken
at least some classes related to social services.
4. Must have at least one year’s successful work experience and be able to demonstrate knowledge
of basic work skill, (i.e., filling out applications, following directions, reading and writing
instruction).
5. Demonstrate ability to analyze job tasks and provide instructions on techniques related to the
performance of a variety of tasks.
6. Possess good writing and verbal communication skills using proper grammar, punctuation, and
spelling.
7. Must be able to pass a background check, drug/alcohol , TB test, Pre-employment physical & lift
test.
