A.N.RAMANUJA KALYAN Email :[email protected] Phone - 91-9176423280 Specialties: Power System Engineering, Power Quality Engineering, Short Circuit Analysis, Load Flow studies Experience Student intern - Toshiba Pvt. Ltd-Hyderabad (November 2012 - May 2013) Worked as a Design Electrical Engineer for AMATA Power Projects(Thailand). Designing Single-line diagrams and calculating cable sizes. Performing detailed calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, installation charges and specifications. Planning layout for electric power generating plants and distribution plants. Conducting field surveys, plotting graphs and other data to identify and correct power system problems. ProjectsUndertaken: Masters Projects: Project 1: Duration: 10 months Optimal design and techno-economic analysis of a wind generation system An attempt has been made in this work on optimal design model for designing wind systems employing battery banks for calculating the system optimum configurations and ensuring that the annualized cost of the systems is minimized while satisfying the custom required loss of power supply probability (LPSP). Required system turned out to be able to perform very well as expected throughout the year with the battery over-discharge situations seldom occurred. Project 2: Duration: 4 months Voltage stability analysis of grids connected wind generators Wind generators can have a significant impact on the power flow, voltage profile and the power quality for customers and electricity suppliers. This requires a suitable tool to analyze the influence of wind generators on the distribution system. This paper presents a method to find the steady-state voltage stability region for each bus of a distribution power system, considering the presence of windpower generation. The maximum permissible load of each bus is calculated, so that it can operate with the voltage within the limits allowed by the power system utilities. Project 3: Duration:4 months Stability performance of a new static excitation system with boost-buck converter The design and evaluation of a new static-excitation system for generator excitation systems to improve the steady-state and transient stabilities. It increases or maintains the generator field current by boosting the field voltage in the case of an input AC line voltage drop during and immediately after a fault. The validity of the proposed excitation system is verified with computer simulation. The simulation results of the stability analysis on the generator with the proposed excitation system is better than that of a conventional static excitation system and a conventional AC excitation system. Also, this proposed excitation system can be simply implemented and controlled by modem power electronics technology. Bachelors Project: Duration:9months Direct Torque Control of 5phase Induction Motor Using Space Vector Modulation An attempt has been made in this work on an effective direct torque control for a 5phase induction motor with sinusoidal distributed windings is developed. The torque production component of the induction motor model, the space vector modulation can be applied to the induction motor DTC control, resulting in considerable torque ripple reduction. Finally, with the over all optimal switching scheme adopted, detailed simulations verify the effectiveness of the new control.
