Bronchi
Two main branches of the trachea that lead into each lung
Trachea
That tube that runs a path from the nose/mouth to the lungs.
Alveoli
Tiny sacks where gas exchange (between the blood in the
capillaries and the air within) takes place in the lungs.
The organs that are filled with millions of tiny air pouches. It
brings oxygen to your body and gets rid of carbon dioxide.
Lungs
Bronchioles
Smaller tubes branched out from the bronchi inside each lung.
Cilia/Nose
Hair-like structures that help move mucus and other substances in
the respiratory track
Diaphragm
Large muscle below the ribs which helps in expanding (inflating)
the lungs for breathing
A sticky substance made by the nose to moisten the inhaled air.
It also traps dust and bacteria.
Mucus
Pleura
A thin, moist layer of tissue that lines the lungs
