➤NOTE: Both AC and DC output circuits are
protected with a thermally activated circuit breaker.
If at any time the power supply fails to come on, or if
it shuts down during operation because of a current
overload, press the RESET button on the front panel.
This will reset the circuit breaker. Of course, you
may have to reduce the voltage or increase the resistance of the load in order to resume operation.

The PASCO scientific Model SF-9582 12 Volt AC/DC
Power Supply provides AC and DC power in 1 volt increments, from 1 to 12 volts, at up to 6 amps. Since the AC
and DC power are delivered on separate output connectors, they can be utilized simultaneously. Both outputs
are unregulated, and protected from current overload by a
thermal circuit breaker. The DC output is full-wave rectified, but unfiltered.
To Use the Power Supply:
➀ Plug the power cord into a well-grounded 107-128
VAC, 60 Hz or 198-242 VAC, 50 Hz outlet. (See label on rear of unit).
CAUTION:
TO PREVENT THE RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK, DO
NOT REMOVE COVER ON UNIT. NO USER SERVICEABLE PARTS INSIDE. REFER SERVICING TO QUALIFIED SERVICE PERSONNEL.
The lightning flash with arrowhead, within
an equilateral triangle, is intended to alert
the user of the presence of uninsulated
“dangerous voltage” within the product’s
enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock to
persons.
➁ Connect the appropriate output lines of the power supply to the circuit. (Connecting wires are not provided.)
➂ Set the VOLTAGE ADJUST knob to 1 volt.
➃ Flip the ON/OFF switch on the power supply to ON.
The switch will light to show that the power supply is on.
The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the
user of the presence of important operating and maintenance (servicing) instructions in the literature accompanying the appliance.
➄ Set the VOLTAGE ADJUST knob to the desired voltage setting (AC values are in RMS units).

Specifications
Equipment Return
AC: 1 to 12 volts (RMS), unregulated, selectable in 1 volt
increments; current up to 6 amps.
Should this product have to be returned to PASCO scientific, for whatever reason, notify PASCO scientific by letter or phone BEFORE returning the product. Upon notification, the return authorization and shipping instructions
will be promptly issued (see reverse side for packing
instructions).
DC: 1 to 12 volts, unregulated, unfiltered, (full wave rectified), selectable in 1 volt increments; current up to 6
amps.
AC and DC outputs are available simultaneously, and
both are protected from current overload by a common 6
amp thermally activated circuit breaker.
➤NOTE: NO EQUIPMENT WILL BE
ACCEPTED FOR RETURN WITHOUT AN
AUTHORIZATION.
Total maximum output current is limited to 6 amps.
When returning equipment for repair, the units must be
packed properly. Carriers will not accept responsibility
for damage caused by improper packing. To be certain
the unit will not be damaged in shipment, observe the following rules:
➤Caution: AC and DC outputs are not independently floating. Cross-connection could result in
internal damage
Other PASCO Power Supplies
➀ The carton must be strong enough for the item shipped.
PASCO scientific offers a variety of rugged, reliable
power supplies. From low-voltage, fixed-output supplies
to a 6 KV DC supply, all PASCO power supplies are easy
to use, ruggedly built, and short circuit protected for long
life in the student lab. For information, check our catalog
or call toll-free 1-800-772-8700.
➁ Make certain there are at least two inches of packing
material between any point on the apparatus and the
inside of the carton.
➂ Make certain that the packing material cannot shift in
the carton, or become compressed, thus letting the instrument come in contact with the edge of the carton.

Contacting Technical Support
If you have any comments about this product or this
manual please let us know. If you have any suggestions
on alternate experiments or find a problem in the manual
please tell us. PASCO appreciates any customer feedback. Your input helps us evaluate and improve our product.
Before you call the PASCO Technical Support staff it
would be helpful to prepare the following information:
• If your problem is computer/software related, note:
Title and Revision Date of software.
Type of Computer (Make, Model, Speed).
Type of external Cables/Peripherals.
To Reach PASCO
• If your problem is with the PASCO apparatus, note:
For Technical Support call us at 1-800-772-8700 (tollfree within the U.S.) or (916) 786-3800.
Title and Model number (usually listed on the label).
Approximate age of apparatus.
A detailed description of the problem/sequence of
events. (In case you can't call PASCO right away, you
won't lose valuable data.)
If possible, have the apparatus within reach when calling. This makes descriptions of individual parts much
easier.
• If your problem relates to the instruction manual, note:
Part number and Revision (listed by month and year on
the front cover).
Have the manual at hand to discuss your questions.
