VOLTAGE REGULATORS
VOLTAGE MULTIPLIERS
• Voltage multipliers are used to step up the output voltage
level to two or more times the peak voltage of input.
• The various voltage multiplier circuits are:
Voltage Doubler
Voltage Tripler
Voltage Quadrapler
Voltage Doublers
• A voltage doubler provides an output that is twice
its peak input voltage.
• Half wave Voltage Doubler
• Full wave voltage Doubler

Operation
• During Positive Half cycle of input:
• D1 forward biased
• D2 reverse biased
• Capacitor C1 will charged to Vm
Operation
• During negative half cycle of input:
• D1 reverse biased
• D2 forward biased
• Capacitor C2 gets charged.
• Voltage across C1 remain as Vm.
