Sawyer Christopher Fredericks
Born March 31, 1999, Newtown, CT
The following are some thoughts I’ve had while reviewing Sawyer Fredericks’
planetary placements. I am able to look up what sign each planet was in the day that
Sawyer was born, and with that information, I can interpret a bit about his astrological
signature. I can’t say that I’ve reviewed Sawyer’s astrological chart, however, because
that requires a key piece of missing information, and that is his birth time. With that, I
would be able to put his planetary placements in an astrological wheel and gain a
deeper understanding of the information. An astrology chart is divided into 12
“houses” and each house represents a different part of a person’s life. Having the exact
time allows astrologers to place the planets in a chart. It also gives us a person’s “rising
sign” or ascendant, which tells us how the person interacts with the world. It’s the
veneer through which we see someone. The truth of their personality comes through
this screen, but only however much they wish others to see. It’s a significant aspect of
our charts, and having an exact birth time for Sawyer would give us this added piece.
That said, I can work with his planets in signs and tell quite a bit about his personality
and trajectory. Please note that no two astrologers will interpret things the same way –
partially because we have different training or orientation, and partly because as
individuals, we each have a unique perspective. This is simply mine at the present
moment.
My focus is on Evolutionary Astrology – the placement of the planets and the way they
interact with each other tells me what a soul is working on learning in this lifetime.
There are no “bad” placements, in my view. Our life journey offers us gifts and
challenges, all designed to help us grow, help us evolve. But we absolutely have free
will. Life responds to us based on the choices we make.
Okay, on to Sawyer! Thanks for your patience. I just wanted to make all of that clear.
Sawyer was born with his Sun in Aries. Our Sun placement is the most significant one
of all. It represents the core of our personality, our ego. The needs of the Sun must be
met in order for us to be happy in life. Not everyone identifies with the traits of their
Sun sign. In that case, it’s often true that we are learning how to be that sign, as funny as
that sounds. It is our core life lesson.
Aries is the very first sign in the zodiac (of 12 signs). It is a Fire sign, and it is ruled by
the planet Mars. Aries is the pioneer, a courageous warrior, a trail blazer. Aries is often
the “first” to do something. Aries can be impulsive and have issues around anger. If this
isn’t evident in an Aries Sun person, it can be that they have lessons to learn around
being forthright and clear about what they want. Other placements in the chart will
shape how those Aries Sun traits are expressed.
Sawyer also has the planet Jupiter exactly next to his Sun. Any planet next to the Sun is
absorbed into the Sun’s personality, and Jupiter is a big, expansive, warm energy. It
gives Sawyer magnetism and charisma – whether he intends it or not! I understand that
Sawyer perceives himself to be shy. My sense is that he is naturally introverted, which
is not quite the same thing. It simply means that he needs time to recover his energy
after being around a lot of people (whereas extroverted people are mostly just
energized by crowds of people). His perceived shyness may be just his deep need to
protect himself from too much energy. But a Sun-Jupiter person’s soul has an
evolutionary desire to SHINE. The light that he gives off is there for a reason – it is
healing for him, and it is truly healing and inspiring to others. He will simply need to
find a way to balance his “shine time” with his quiet time on the farm. This may take a
while, but we know his supportive family will help him find his way.
Sawyer has a Libra Moon. Our Moon represents our inner life, our heart and soul. In
Libra, it is drawn to beauty in all its many forms, as it is ruled by Venus, the planet of
love and appreciation for all things beautiful. Libra loves any expression that feels like a
creative one – from painting to writing to music. Libra, which is represented by the
scales, is also concerned with fairness and justice and wants all people treated well.
Libra is an air sign, which is mental in nature – so it makes sense that Sawyer’s heart
expression (his Moon) would come out through writing heartfelt lyrics.
Sawyer was born at a Full Moon. The Full Moon in Libra is known as the Artist’s
Moon. From the book Moon Phase Astrology by Raven Kaldera:
In the Libra Full Moon, the emotions and appreciation of beauty of the Lover spring forth into
the Artist. The experience of love has inspired Libra Moon people and thrown them into a
paroxysm of creative fervor. The Muse has spoken, and the inner feelings are externalized onto
paper, or in stone, or in music.
At 16, who knows how the Muse will speak to Sawyer in the years to come. His creative
journey has only just begun.
The next aspect I would like to address is something most people have never heard of,
and that is the Nodes of the Moon. Without going into the technical explanation, I’ll just
say that there are two points, one to the north of the Moon and one to the south, and
they represent, respectively, where we’ve come from and where we’re going. In
evolutionary terms, the South Node represents the past – including past lives. Some
people aren’t comfortable with that framework, which is absolutely fine. It’s also
possible to see this as an ancestral influence, the way patterns of behavior can repeat
(particularly if they’re unconscious) generation after generation.
For my purposes here, I’m going to assume that what we’re looking at for Sawyer is a
past-life pattern. What this means is that he may have had a version of this experience
over and over again, and now, with awareness, he can break the spell of the “stuck”
aspect of it and move in the opposite direction.
Sawyer’s South Node is in Aquarius. As with any sign, Aquarius includes many
positive qualities. Aquarians are the seers, the visionaries, the ones who can see the big
picture and create something ahead of its time. Yet because of this, Aquarians can often
feel set apart from their peers. Aquarius is an air sign, so functioning on a mental level
is what it does best. While its dream is for the greater good, relating on a personal level
is not always easy. Aquarians are ruled by the planet Uranus, which is the rebel of the
zodiac. It wants to do things its own way, and it wants its freedom. And yet, there can
be a certain amount of pain involved in feeling set apart from others. We all can feel like
a bit of an oddball sometimes, but someone with a South Node in Aquarius, would
have a feeling that they are “different” than others, even when it’s not really the case.
The evolutionary goal here is, basically, to let your freak flag fly. To recognize your
unique qualities and see that they can actually be a gift and an inspiration to others. So,
this is a central task for Sawyer to learn how to do this time around.
The opposite direction is the North Node, which is what our soul longs to learn how to
do. It is generally not something that we’ve had much experience with in previous lives.
So for Sawyer, his North Node is in Leo. Leo is another fire sign, like his Aries Sun. Leo
is actually ruled by the Sun, so the directive here is to learn to be fully comfortable
being his unique self, and letting his light shine. Yes, this is an echo of the Sun-Jupiter
lesson. He has support within his chart to shine on, indeed!
The thing that’s cool about Leo energy is that it is represented by the lion. Think of how
calm and centered and proud a lion can be. That’s the best of the Leo energy: quiet
dignity. To know who he is – someone special – and just quietly shine is his
evolutionary goal.
Sawyer has the planet Mercury in Pisces. Mercury represents both how we speak (to
others, to ourselves), and how we think. In watery Pisces, we truly enter the creative
realm. It is a place without boundary, an ocean of feelings and ideas. Pisces also rules
music and singing. This placement can point to Sawyer’s rich inner experience, while
finding words (that aren’t expressed in his songs) to talk with others may be a bit more
challenging. Sawyer will do well to engage the forthright qualities of his Aries Sun to
help him step forward in conversation. Pisces Mercury people can find others
dominating, because often they don’t step forward to have their share of the
conversation. The best people for Sawyer to surround himself with are those who
recognize the sometimes meandering way that he arrives at expressing himself and
offers him comfortable space to simply be fully himself.
There is much more that I can glean from his planetary placements, but some of it feels
more personal than I’d want to explore here. I want to be respectful of him, since I’m a
stranger.
I hope these notes have given you a bit more of an understanding of Sawyer, though of
course they would need to be confirmed by him, or someone who knows him best.
