SE-240 Solid-State Residential Energy Meter
The meter for choice in a deregulated electricity market
AMR Now or Later, & What Kind?
The choice is yours…
Global Power Product’s SE-240 Solid-State Residential
Energy Meter is a low-cost, all-electronic and versatile open
system. The unique design of the SE-240 supports
numerous choices of Automated Meter Reading (AMR)
technologies that are beginning to emerge. The SE-240
open-platform meter with a Cyclometer or LCD kilowatt-hour
register offers a full spectrum of AMR choices.
Why deal with proprietary protocols?
The data communications from SE-240 to plug-in modules utilizes the ANSI C12.18
communications protocol and the information and format specified in the ANSI standard
C12.19 data tables.
Features:

 Form 2S, 240V, 60Hz, Single Phase, 3-Wire, 5 Amp through 5000 Amp

 Low cost, AMR-ready meter with LCD-readout for energy display

 Modular design, open architecture

 Data can be processed and stored at the meter or can be processed

 by the communications electronics that gives you more choice

 Supports real-time metering, Time-of-Use (TOU), load profiling, load
management, power quality monitoring

 Compatible with Power-Line-Carrier, CEBus, LonWorks, RF two-way,
 cellular, satellite, two-way paging, telephone and cable modems

 both 240VAC and 12VDC provided to communications module

 Available with 200A load disconnect
Communications Options:
The SE-240 will accept a variety of communication modules that allow utilities and property
management to stay with the type of communications technology that they currently have in
place. Groups that are undecided as to the communications technology they plan to use can
install the SE-240 first as a basic LCD readout energy meter and deal with the communications
issue later. Many communications companies are ready now to talk with utilities about their
technology for the SE-240
