who gave him his first piano lessons

Norwegian folk songs and the grandeur of Norway’s rugged
scenery
• His most famous composition is his Peer Gynt Suite
• He was about to sail to England in 1907 to perform a concert
in London when he had a heart attack
• He died in Bergen, Norway on September 4, 1907
• His body lay in state and many thousands of people passed by
to pay tribute to him
