Annual meeting
SPPG held its 9th conference and annual meeting at Bispebjerg Hospital, Copenhagen,
Denmark, January 21th and 22th. 20 pharmacists participatedin working groups and listened to
the invited speakers. TTopics included: Patient safety and medication error reporting in
paediatrics in the Nordic countries, presentation of a manufacturer’s labelling system to
improve patient safety and Robertino, a robot for cytotoxic CIVAS, an overview of Cystic
Fibrosis (CF) by Kim G Nielsen, a mothers story on daily life with CF, naloxone with opioid
treatment, Tyndal method for compatibility assessment in intravenous admixtures (International
Journal of Pharmaceutical Compounding; Jan/Feb 2010; 14, 1), the Norwegian multidisiplinary
medicines for children network, report from Paeditric committee (PDCO) and a report from
NPPG annual meeting 2009.
Meetings
Three meetings have been heldthis year, mainly discussing the SPPG annual meeting and the
economy.
Projects
- The tenth SPPG meeting will be held March 24th and 25th in Oslo, Norway. Oncology
will be the main topic. aiming to invite a key lecturer from the POP group.
- Swedish SPPG members contribute regularly to the journal of the Swedish national
organisation of Paediatric Nurses.
- SPPG members have taken active part in multidisciplinary team all over Sweden.
Working with patient safety in paediatrics. Åsa Anderson and Per Nydert and their
multidisciplinary team at Astrid Lindgren Children’s Hospital recently received a
national price for their work on linking information on children’s medicines to the
electronic prescribing system.
- The Norwegian multidisiplinary medicines for children network is now well
esatblished with 20 local multidisciplinary committees around the country. The local
committees have been encouraged to invite representatives from primary care to
participate in their work. Communication is on a virtual platform. The network
arranges a conference and an open meeting each year, the latter on clinical research.
The network has formalized the collaboration with governmental and ideal
organizations. Tasks for the network are patient safety, competence and knowledge
dissemination, scientific knowledge and research summary. The network has started
the prosess of organising a national research network with the aim of qualifieing
Norway for the EnPREMA network
- SPPG member Siri Wang is the Norwegian representative to the Paediatric Committee
(PDCO).
Economy/Members
This year the membership fee is set to 150 SEK/NOK/DK, this is advised to be accompanied
by a membership in NPPG. 20 pharmacists from Sweden and Norway are members of the
group, 12 are members of NPPG.
