Tutorial: Mechanic - electrician Topic: Basics of electrical engineering the 2nd. year, Three-phase current Appliances, connection Prepared by: Škarka Miloš Projekt Anglicky v odborných předmětech, CZ.1.07/1.3.09/04.0002 je spolufinancován Evropským sociálním fondem a státním rozpočtem České republiky. Appliance is an electro technical device altering (consuming) electric energy into a different kind of energy. Electrical appliance along with a source of electric energy is the most important part of electric circuit. Important parameters of electric appliances are voltage, which they have to be connected to, and electric input determining how much electric energy the appliance consumes in one time unit (1 s). Label of electromotor Safety parameters (safety regulations) in electric devices serve for preventing injuries caused by electric current. That‘s why producers of electric appliances (and distributors) has to perform basic tests before they launch their products on the market (according to ČSN 34 5610, ČSN 34 5611, …) and also gain certificate from authorized testing lab EZÚ Praha (Elektrotechnický zkušební ústav). One-phase – work on phase voltage 230V, vacuum cleaner, microwave, hairdryer, TV Two-phase- work on comprehensive voltage 400v or 2x 230V cook top, welder, appliances with higher input Three-phase- work on voltage 3x230/3x400V motors, convector heaters, cook tops, water boilers A socket is an electro technical part serving for connecting electrical appliances to electric distribution network. The socket is the immovable part of the socket connection. The counterpart to the socket is the plug. Socket connection: left tube L, right N, pin PE (pin on the top). Plug and socket Schuko Standard socket for Europe Plug with protective contact Serves for connecting three-phase appliances. In the TNC network we use four-pin –PEN + L1, L2, L3 In the TNC-S and TNS network we use five-pin socket PE+N+L1, L2, L3 TNC network plug Electric sockets in motion Sockets of all countries, unite! Let‘s go to USA Type A Can be used for example : USA, CANADA, VIETNAM… Let‘s go to Cuba Type B Protective PE Phase Neutral Similar to type A with clearly put pin Can be used for example : USA , CANADA, TAHITI, CUBA, AZORS, BAHAMAS Let‘s go to Croatia Type C Pair of flat pins with diameter 4,8mm for appliances in protection class 2 Can be used for example : Spain, Sweden, Czech Republic, Phillipines, Croatia, Iraq, Iceland, Canarian Islands Let‘s go to Greece Can be used for example: Greece, Aghanistan, Maledives, India Let‘s stay home Type E Pair of round pins with diameter 4.8mm, grounding tube with diameter 4.8mm Can be used for example: Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, Tunisia Appliance definition Main parameters of appliances What information is on the label of an appliance Division according to the number of phases What voltage does the one-phase appliance operate on? How many conductors will you connect to threephase socket in TNC-S network? www. wikipedie.cz http://zasuvky.hw.cz/index2.php www.odbornecasopisy.cz
