Roger was an African
American woman zoologist.
She made many
discoveries in the marine
biology field.
Personnel information
Roger was born in Clifton Forge, Virginia 1899 and died in
New Orleans, November 9th 1964.
She was oppressed by racial and sexist comments in her
life.
Eventually she broke the barriers of her oppression and
accomplished her dream of being a zoologist.
Around the time when she died she had mental issues
and was sent to a mental asylum.
Never married but had a supposed attraction to Mr.Just.
Job
She worked as a zoologist and marine biologist.
She was able to do this thanks to graduating Howard
university.
A man by the name of just helped her throughout her
career

Graduated Harvard university
First African American Woman to receive a doctorate in
zoology.
Obtained a masters degree in Chicago university.
Did a major project in Europe that advanced knowledge in
the zoology and marine biology fields.
