www.sylvania.com/LED Exterior Light Engine Modular LED light engine for exterior light fixtures Key Features & Benefits •Stand-alone light engine can be combined with a number of housings and optics; making it easy to use in a variety of applications •Comes pre-wired to simplify the installation process •Reverse voltage protection prevents damage to LEDs that can result from incorrect wiring The Exterior Light Engine (ELE) is available with seven or fourteen high-brightness LEDs on a metal core board (MCB). Available in 3500K, 4100K and 5800K, the ELE is available in different drive currents, producing a variety of lumen outputs. Conformal coating provides protection against dust, moisture and condensation allowing the ELE to be combined with a variety of housings and optics, making the light engine easy to use in a variety of applications. The ELE is optimally paired with OPTOTRONIC® 24Vdc power supplies. • Area lighting • Street lighting LED123R1 4/11 •Conformally coated to protect against dust, moisture and condensation •Long life: up to 50,000 hours (L70) when temperature at Tc point is maintained at or below 85°C minimizing maintenance frequency Product Offering Ordering Abbreviation CL/7/W4F-735 275mA CL/7/W4F-741 275mA CL/7/W4F-758 275mA CL/7/W4F-735 444mA CL/7/W4F-741 444mA CL/7/W4F-758 444mA CL/14/W4F-735 667mA CL/14/W4F-741 667mA CL/14/W4F-758 667mA CL/14/W4F-735 888mA CL/14/W4F-741 888mA CL/14/W4F-758 888mA Application Information Applications •Bi-level dimming is available on light engines containing 14 LEDs Specifications and Certifications Wattage 6.6 6.6 6.6 12 12 12 16 16 16 21.3 21.3 21.3 Color 3500K 4100K 5800K 3500K 4100K 5800K 3500K 4100K 5800K 3500K 4100K 5800K Specification Data Catalog # Type Project Comments Prepared by Date Ordering Information Item Number 70476 71249 71268 70477 71258 71269 70478 71259 71270 70479 71260 71271 Ordering Abbreviation Dimensions CL/7/W4F-735 275mA 2.952" x 2.952" CL/7/W4F-741 275mA 2.952" x 2.952" CL/7/W4F-758 275mA 2.952" x 2.952" CL/7/W4F-735 444mA 2.952" x 2.952" CL/7/W4F-741 444mA 2.952" x 2.952" CL/7/W4F-758 444mA 2.952" x 2.952" CL/14/W4F-735 667mA 2.952" x 2.952" CL/14/W4F-741 667mA 2.952" x 2.952" CL/14/W4F-758 667mA 2.952" x 2.952" CL/14/W4F-735 888mA 2.952" x 2.952" CL/14/W4F-741 888mA 2.952" x 2.952" CL/14/W4F-758 888mA 2.952" x 2.952" No. of LEDs 7 7 7 7 7 7 14 14 14 14 14 14 Power (W)* 6.6 6.6 6.6 12 12 12 16 16 16 21.3 21.3 21.3 Voltage (Vdc) 24 24 24 24 24 24 24 24 24 24 24 24 Current* (mA) 275 275 275 444 444 444 667 667 667 888 888 888 Color Temperature** 3500K 4100K 5800K 3500K 4100K 5800K 3500K 4100K 5800K 3500K 4100K 5800K Initial* Lumens (lm) 371 428 585 675 779 1064 899 1037 1417 1198 1383 1890 LPW 56 65 89 56 65 89 56 65 89 56 65 89 All data reflects statistical averages for a bare module at 25°C. TO AVOID ELECTRICAL SHOCK OR COMPONENT DAMAGE, DISCONNECT POWER BEFORE ATTEMPTING INSTALLATION OF THE POWER SUPPLIES AND/OR MODULES. Failure to install the power supplies and/or LED modules in accordance with the National Electric Code (NEC), all applicable Federal, State and local electric codes as well as the specific Underwriters Laboratories (UL) safety standards for the installation, location and application may cause serious personal injury, death, property damage and/or product malfunction. Warranty SYLVANIA LED products are covered by our LED Module, OPTOTRONIC® Power Supply or Control Warranty. The ELE is covered under warranty as long as the temperature at the Tc point does not exceed 85˚C; exceeding this temperature will void all warranties. For additional information, refer to the latest version of the warranty at www.sylvania.com. 1. The LED module itself and all its components shall not be subjected to mechanical stress and assembly must not damage or destroy conducting paths on the circuit board. 2. Ensure the power supply is of adequate power to operate the total load. 3. Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) precautions shall be incorporated when handling or installing the module (For more information, reference document # LED093 ESD Protection for LED Systems.) 4. Modules may be hot to the touch. Use caution when handling. 5. Damage by corrosion and improper heat sinking will not be honored as a materials defect claim. It is the user’s responsibility to ensure adequate heat sink and protection against corrosive agents such as moisture, condensation and other harmful elements. 6. Circuit boards should be attached securely to the intended substrate, but do not over-tighten screws or rivets. Heavy vibration should be avoided. 7. The module itself is protected against condensation (water) with a polymeric conformal coating. Supplementary soldering on any solder pad will destroy the conformal coating and with it protection against water. 8. Avoid looking directly into the light beam as the high brightness may damage eyes. Assembly Information 1. The LED module is not intended for use with constant current power supplies. 2. Observe correct electrical polarity, incorrect polarity may destroy the module. 4. Multiple modules must be connected to power supply using parallel connections. Bi-Level dimming is achievable with modules having 14 LEDs by using a third party switching unit on the secondary (DC) circuit. Refer to wiring diagram for details.
