CONCLUSION.........................................................................4 GENERAL INFORMATION Tatyshev island is one of the main attractions in the city. Its a picturesque landscape is isolated by the river Yenisey. Even though there is a well-developed infrastructure in the park like sports equipment rental center, lots of cafes, playgrounds for kids of all ages, running tracks, bicycle tracks, roller-skating tracks, basketball and volleyball courts, playgrounds with grass and hard surface it lacks an amusement park that would have a semantic meaning to the area, would give a story and put an image in visitor’s mental map. This is especially necessary as 2019 Universiada will be hosted in Krasnoyarsk. During last years Tatyshev Park has become a sort of a city brand, connected with the ideas of healthy lifestyle, focus on ecology and realization of big ideas and initiatives. The Park has become the center of family and active outdoor activities of the city. And all of these features have been implemented in this project. CONCEPT Concept is based on crystal structure which is free, chaotic and random. Transparency and modular structure are main features. Created modules in the project partly systematize chaotic natural layout. Ice structures gives transparency which creates lightness and semantic narrative in the area of an ice palace with nature frozen inside. This idea refers to Siberia - a beauty that is frozen. VOLUME FORMING Existing city typology consists mainly of rectangular elements whether it would be high rise blocks or row houses, organized in repetitive modules. This gives a brief direction what plan and visual structure should be. Considering the fact, that site is located in an island – natural environment, volumes in project are softened using pitched roofs, such materials like wooden planks o glass that would reflect surroundings. Buildings are orientated freely around the site and fulfilled with ice structures which can be rebuilt annually. In the project three main modular units are used that can be divided in two groups: ones that grows vertically and others: horizontally. This growth helps to organize and prioritize elements. As another group of modules should be mentioned is info points and playgrounds that should be portable and could be moved around the site depending on the flows or season. LAYOUT AND ARRANGEMENT There are two main accesses to the area. Both are from west side of the site, just after the parking lot. Parking space, road, technical/delivery driveway and discharge space behind building elements save amusement park inner space from noise and helps to manage flows. Alongside with the driveway and discharge space the Shopping area is located. A row of modular unites is organized between two entrances that visitors could go shopping just after coming and before leaving. Small shops mixed with cozy winter cafes as the opposite for ice bars offer visitors a warm shelter. Upper entrance supposed to be more active because together with shopping space in the left upper side museum /exhibition area is organized. There are four smaller unites for inside exhibitions that jumps horizontally and vertically and a big space shaped by ice structures for open exhibitions. Temporary ice structures are very convenient because can be shaped or developed depending on exhibition size or type. Just after Museum/exhibition area Ice Lab is located. There visitors can find out new information and innovative technologies related to ice and snow. After Ice Lab there is men and women toilets. It serves for labyrinth, museum/exhibition are, café zone, skiing rink users. Lower entrance is more administrative, as there is administration block and security desk organized nearby. This is convenient if big events are hosted in the area as it helps to manage different groups of visitors ( for example: participants and viewers). Just after administrative area men and women toilets are located next to Ice bar. There is a permanent two floor element in the center of café, which can be used partly as a storage in the ground floor and glass-covered terrace or small inside café space on the first floor. Tables are organized inside the ice structures that divides spaces and create more private atmosphere. In front of shopping area a big space for sculpture park and artists workshop space is situated. By putting this in the center of the amusement park we are able to expose artists work. Visitors also can participate in the process by joining the workshop and so on. This area is surrounded with playgrounds, outside games like chess, skiing rink, light installations, human scale snowball with Krasnoyarsk city’s landmarks inside, outside amphitheatre with screen and seats organized around. Just after it equipment storage is based. In the end of the park a big labyrinth is located with two entrances. In the middle stands a three floor tower with glass terrace on top with a view pint to all park area. It becomes a landmark for, so called, Ice City. In the right lower corner of the site a space for Ice bowling is created. All these amusements considered to exist during the cold season, but during the warm season all spaces can be reorganized in picnic areas, summer sport activity fields as permanent structures are mostly near the boarders. Café’s tables can be spread around the core element. Museum outside exhibition is not attached to building volumes so can be organized in any way if needed. Shopping area should stay during both, cold and warm seasons. In the area there are four info points, situated in well visible places near the main route paths. BUILDING CONSTRUCTION AND MATERIALS Two types of building elements exist in the site: permanent and temporary. Permanent horizontal ones are modular units of 6 x 6 m, 6 x 12 m, 6 x 18 m made of wooden constructions. Baring structure because of low high should be wooden carcass with wooden planks finishing and green roofs. Vertical modular units h - 4 m, h - 8 m, h – 12 m, should have metal columns to bare the loads. Pitched roof used in order to reduce the stress due to big amount of snow during the winter period. Temporary structures that would be made of ice blocks varies from 1 m to 10 m high. With a thicker base and thinner top, base should be able to bare the louds. Ice blocks should be covered with a thin layer of water and polish to have a solid surface. To create a crystal or, so called, ’ frozen beauty’ perception various art pieces could be frozen inside, like flowers, tree branches with leaves and etc. UTILITY SYSTEM Most of the permanent elements can be multifunctional as it’s designed based o simplicity. The same element can be used as shop or cafe, or storage. Because of museum location, it is easy to deliver all exhibition specimens. Shopping area’s elements have designed small storages inside every unit but, if needed, new permanent unit can be added as the building structure isn’t fixed. Ice bars have its own storages in the towers. All around the area small storage units are spread. Some of it serves as renting points (like skiing rink equipment), others store equipment for area maintenance. CONCLUSION With this proposal my aim was to create a natural amusement park that would be impressive by structures and elements itself that refer to Siberia as a piece of art frozen in ice. Temporary structures create vertical volumes jumping together with trees, landscape and is freely organized, so, doesn’t stand out as a building, but creates space and atmosphere of invisible, transparent and glimmering palace. This amusement park should be more a process than a finished project, where snow, wind, rain, artists, visitors shape the space constantly. This project represents a very sensitive line between light, transparency, movement and constant process that happens within the space.
