• GEORGE J. PARDOS, M.D., Cataract, Cornea, Refractive Surgeon
George J. Pardos, M.D., surgeon and medical director of Omni Eye Specialists, received his medical
degree from Yale University School of Medicine. He completed his residency training in ophthalmology at
the Barnes Hospital of Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. After completing residency, he
received an additional year of training in corneal surgery at the University of Iowa in Iowa City. He is
board certified and a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, a member of the Castroviejo
Society, which is composed solely of corneal surgeons, as well as a member of various other medical
societies. Dr. Pardos is a recognized expert in the field of cataract, refractive and corneal surgery and
disease. He has presented numerous medical papers and authored several published reports in major
ophthalmic journals.
• GARY A. BELEN, M.D., Glaucoma, Cataract, and Anterior Segment Surgery
Gary A. Belen, M.D., a physician specializing in glaucoma surgery and cataract surgery, received his
undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago and his medical degree from the University of
Missouri, Kansas City. Dr. Belen is board certified in ophthalmology and a member of the American
Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Belen specializes in the medical, laser and surgical treatment of
glaucoma. He also performs no-stitch clear corneal cataract surgery. He completed his glaucoma
fellowship at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He has lectured for numerous professional

Jason J. Wang, M.D., eye physician and surgeon at Omni Eye Specialists, earned his undergraduate degree
from Northwestern University. He received his medical training and medical degree from the University of
Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine. He obtained his residency training in ophthalmology at the
University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary in Chicago. After residency, he obtained subspecialty training
in cornea transplantation and LASIK refractive surgery by completing a fellowship program at the
University of Wisconsin in Madison. Dr. Wang is board certified by the American Board of
Ophthalmology. He is a member of the American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery and fellow of
the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
• MIRIAH TEETER, M.D., Vitreo-Retinal Surgeon
Miriah Teeter, M.D., attended Cornell University in Ithaca, New York where he received his undergraduate
degree in biology. He then moved to North Carolina and received his medical degree at the University of
North Carolina School of Medicine. During medical school, Dr. Teeter became founding president of
PACT (prevention in action) — an organization that provides opportunities for medical student research
and clinical experience. He then completed an internship at Deaconess Medical Center in Spokane,
Washington and his residency in ophthalmology at the University of North Carolina. He completed his
fellowship in retinal surgery at the University of British Columbia which is one of the busiest retinal
departments in North America.
• HOWARD AMIEL, M.D., Cataract, Cornea, Refractive Surgeon
Howard Amiel, M.D., specializes in cataract, corneal/anterior segment eye disorders and refractive surgery.
He received his undergraduate education at the University of Iowa and medical training at the University of
Illinois College of Medicine. After completing his residency at the Brown Medical School in Rhode Island,
he joined the faculty to teach and mentor medical students and ophthalmology residents in the emergency
room, clinics and operating room. He completed two fellowships prior to joining Omni Eye Specialists, one
in cataract and refractive surgery with Dr. Paul Koch of Warwick, RI, and another in cornea, external
disease and refractive surgery at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. He
brings to Omni Eye Specialists extensive training in corneal transplantation techniques, LASIK and
specialty refractive intraocular lens procedures.

• LAWRENCE D. SPIVACK, M.D., Refractive Surgeon
Lawrence D. Spivack, M.D., has provided Colorado patients with high-quality vision correction surgery for
more than 27 years. He graduated summa cum laude from the State University of New York in Buffalo with
a degree in psychology and went on to Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston for his doctor of
medicine. He completed a medical internship at Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center in Denver and an
ophthalmology residency at the University of Colorado Medical Center before becoming board certified by
the American Board of Ophthalmology. Since the start of his career, Dr. Spivack has successfully performed
more than 40,000 laser surgeries and 6,700 radial keratotomy procedures in Colorado.
• VANDI W. RIMER, O.D., B.C. Anterior Segment and Refractive Surgery
Consultation
Vandi W. Rimer, O.D., graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelor's degree in psychology. She
then attended the Pacific University College of Optometry in Oregon where she received her doctor of
optometry degree. During her education, Dr. Rimer completed a LASIK internship at the Eye Institute of
Utah, a primary eye care and ocular disease management internship at Eyes of Arizona, a pediatrics and
vision therapy and contact lens internship at Portland Clinic and an internship on low vision exams on
children at Washington State School for the Blind. She also received residency training at Omni Eye
Specialists in ocular disease as well as refractive and ocular surgery. Board certified September 2013 through
the American Board of Optometry
• SALIL SHUKLA, M.D., Vitreo-Retinal Surgeon
Dr. Salil Shukla attended medical school at New York Medical College, during which he took a year’s hiatus
to perform full-time clinical and basic science research in neuro-ophthalmology at Johns Hopkins’ Wilmer
Eye Institute. He completed his medical internship at Yale University before returning to New York Medical
College for residency in ophthalmology, where he served as Chief Resident his senior year. Subsequently Dr.
Shukla completed a two year vitreo-retinal surgical fellowship at the Vitreoretinal Foundation in Memphis,
TN. Dr. Shukla has published papers in the journals Cornea, Retina, Experimental Neurology and the
American Journal of Ophthalmology. He has presented several papers on macular degeneration at ARVO
and was selected to present his research in endophthalmitis at the international Retina Congress convention.
• SUMIT A. SITOLE, M.D., Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon
Sumit A. Sitole, M.D., earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan. He received his
medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine. He obtained his internship at the University of
Chicago and his residency at Loyola University Medical Center. He completed a fellowship at Krieger Eye
Institute, Sinai Hospital of Baltimore. He is a member of the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Sitole
has been published in numerous professional journals. He has traveled internationally on medical mission
trips. Dr. Sitole specializes in a minimally invasive approach to cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the
eyelid and facial features.
• THOMAS R. CRUSE, O.D., Anterior Segment and Refractive Surgery
Consultation
Dr. Thomas R. Cruse received his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from St. Olaf College in Minnesota,
and his Doctor of Optometry degree from Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. He was the recipient
of the Lawrence P. Feignebaum Clinical Optometry Memorial Award as the top clinician in his graduating
class. He is a founding member of the iPRO Program, educating and enhancing optometric students’
private practice experience and opportunities. He completed a residency at Omni Eye Specialists and
Spivack Vision Center in Denver. While at Omni Eye Specialists, Dr. Cruse received extensive training in
advanced diagnostic techniques and medical management of anterior and posterior segment eye disorders
and laser vision correction.
