Michael B. Brenner, M.D., F.I.C.S. Surgical Director, TLC Laser Eye Centers Torrance Clinical Adjunct Professor, SCCO A native of Southern California, Dr. Brenner has been in the forefront of refractive intraocular surgery for more than a decade. Fellowship trained at the prestigious Jules Stein Eye Institute and board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, his credentials serve as a framework to enhance his extensive experience in the field of vision correction surgery. Over the years, Dr. Brenner has performed in excess of 20,000 primary vision correction procedures and was among the first to implant the Multifocal Intraocular Lens in Southern California in 1997. Since then, he has become a leader in specialty implant technology for the correction of presbyopia. His ability to understand each patient’s needs on an individual basis affords the opportunity to custom-tailor a surgery utilizing the FDA-approved accommodating Crystalens,® the diffractive ReSTOR® IQ and the aspheric Tecnis multifocal intraocular lens. These lens technologies are utilized not only for Refractive Lens Exchange, but also for patients suffering from cataracts. As Surgical Director of Presbyopic and IOL Services for TLC Laser Eye Centers in Torrance and Fullerton, Dr. Brenner provides a unique methodology to vision correction surgery for presbyopia and other types of severe refractive errors incorporating an advanced approach to lens implant surgery. Dr. Brenner, along with his professional team at TLC, has been recognized as a Center of Excellence™ for STAAR® Surgical because of his expertise and experience with implanting the Visian ICL™ Phakic intraocular lens (known as the Implantable Contact Lens). Dr. Brenner is a frequent lecturer locally and regionally as well as a regularly invited speaker at the national and international levels. He also serves as a proctor for other surgeons performing LASIK, Advanced Cataract Surgery, and Phakic IOL’s.
