Michael B. Brenner, M.D., F.I.C.S.
Surgical Director, TLC Laser Eye Centers Torrance
Clinical Adjunct Professor, SCCO
A native of Southern California, Dr. Brenner has been in the forefront of refractive
intraocular surgery for more than a decade. Fellowship trained at the prestigious
Jules Stein Eye Institute and board certified by the American Board of
Ophthalmology, his credentials serve as a framework to enhance his extensive
experience in the field of vision correction surgery. Over the years, Dr. Brenner has
performed in excess of 20,000 primary vision correction procedures and was
among the first to implant the Multifocal Intraocular Lens in Southern California in
1997. Since then, he has become a leader in specialty implant technology for the
correction of presbyopia. His ability to understand each patient’s needs on an
individual basis affords the opportunity to custom-tailor a surgery utilizing the
FDA-approved accommodating Crystalens,® the diffractive ReSTOR®
IQ and the aspheric Tecnis multifocal intraocular lens. These lens
technologies are utilized not only for Refractive Lens Exchange,
but also for patients suffering from cataracts.
As Surgical Director of Presbyopic and IOL Services for
TLC Laser Eye Centers in Torrance and Fullerton, Dr.
Brenner provides a unique methodology to vision
correction surgery for presbyopia and other types of
severe refractive errors incorporating an advanced
approach to lens implant surgery. This personalized
approach affords optimal use of the VISX
CustomVue™ and Allegretto Wavelight® custom
laser platforms resulting in superior outcomes
often providing a better quality of vision than the
patient previously experienced!
Dr. Brenner, along with his professional team at TLC,
has been recognized as a Center of Excellence™ for
STAAR® Surgical because of his expertise and experience
with implanting the Visian ICL™ Phakic intraocular lens
(known as the Implantable Contact Lens). Dr. Brenner is
a frequent lecturer locally and regionally as well as a
regularly invited speaker at the national and
international levels. He also serves as a proctor for
other surgeons performing LASIK, Advanced
Cataract Surgery, and Phakic IOL’s. Dr. Brenner
prides himself on delivering personalized care to his
patients and is committed to making himself
available to his co-managing network of doctors.
