POSITION PURPOSE The Marketing and Communication Team at Villa Maria Catholic Homes provides marketing, communications, public relations and fundraising support for the organisation. The team’s role is to actively manage and promote the Villa Maria Catholic Homes brand and its services, raise awareness and funds and facilitate stakeholder and community engagement and participation. The Communication Advisor is responsible for managing and executing all market-facing communication across the organisation, to strengthen the firm's brand and market position. You will be responsible for identifying media opportunities and tracking media coverage; coordinating award submissions; social media marketing; media relations; maintaining the communications schedule and media contacts list; and providing communications support to the wider team. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated experience in identifying media opportunities, writing for different audiences and channels including media releases, website content, brochures, fundraising, speech notes, annual reports, as well as having exposure to crisis communications. This role will require you to work somewhat autonomously, however you will be part of a greater marketing/communications team working with Marketing Officers, Fundraising team, CEO, and Manager – Marketing and Communications. You will need to be comfortable in making contact with various people internally and externally to the organisation. This role will suit an individual who is passionate about making a difference in people’s lives by communicating in an authentic style and having a collaborative approach. Five plus years’ experience is necessary and a degree qualified is an advantage. Your role: Reporting to the Manager, Marketing and Communications and working with the wider marketing, communication and fundraising team as well as the Community Services, Residential Aged Care and corporate area, you will oversee the communications which will be developed to achieve organisation objectives. Your responsibilities will include: Communications Actively source and write articles for publication, provide proof reading and editing support. Produce communications for various mediums including, print and electronic media, web content, direct mail, marketing collateral, advertising and fundraising campaigns, etc. Develop testimonials. Prepare a range of internal and external stakeholder communications, including newsletters, annual reports, etc. Source editorial opportunities, write press releases, provide media liaison and actively nurture and maintain effective media networks. Participate as an informed and effective member of the crisis communications team. Research and write brochure content and speeches. Assist with the research and preparation of abstracts and presentations. Marketing & Public Relations Assist with the implementation of marketing/PR/communications strategies in line with organisational and service area imperatives. Contribute to the development and implementation of marketing and operational/business plans. Assist in the preparation of marketing/communications/PR campaigns and maintain accurate records and evaluation reports. In conjunction with the wider Marketing, Communication and Fundraising team, provide marketing, communications and PR support to organisational service departments and programs and ensure that branding principles and policies are understood and adhered to. Marketing and Communication team responsibilities and general administration: Assist in the development of Marketing and Communication policies and procedures. Provide assistance, as needed with the development and coordination of organisational and special events (internal and external), consistent with the organisations standards of excellence. It is expected that you will assist with events out of work hours quarterly. Undertake research and prepare reports relevant to the Marketing and Communication team as required. Keep abreast of industry changes and activities, particularly in relation to sector challenges, policy and sector reform and consumer and sector advocacy. Provide support where needed to the Marketing and Communication Manager. Comply with all relevant legislation, regulations and Villa Maria Catholic Homes policies. Work with the greater Catholic Identity and Mission team. Bachelor degree or higher in communications/journalism or comparable experience. At least five years in a communications role. 2. High level verbal communication and interpersonal skills in order to develop positive relationships within and outside the organisation. 3. Research skills. 4. Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing tasks and priorities. 5. Exceptional writing skills with the ability to write clearly, concisely and accurately - in line with brands voice for different mediums. 6. Flexibility and multitasking with the ability to juggle many activities and stakeholders while using creative and lateral thinking to solve problems. 7.
