Week (7) : 21/2 to 25/2
TERM2
Day
Sunday
21/2
WEEKLY LESSON PLAN
Teacher: Mrs. Salwa El Demerdash , Mrs. Enas
Lesson Objectives & Details
(WALTs) in Chronological
Sequence
9.1Simplify Radical
Expressions
To write square root
expressions in simplest radical
form.
Learning Activities
Setting the stage:
The students will recall perfect
square number and how to
find their square root.
Focusing the event
The students will learn the
product property of square
root, They can simplify the
expression in fewer steps or
to apply the property several
times by stepping out the
factorization. Elcit that fewer
steps are required if the
greatest perfect square is
found first.
Closure:
Students will solve selected
questions in Pb. pg. 221 under
the facilitator supervision
H.w.: complete Pb. pg. 221
odd numbers
(Continue overleaf if necessary)
2015-2016
Subject: Math
Instructional Strategies
Flexible grouping
Students will work together
to solve the pb. pg 221
Grade: 8

9.1Simplify Radical
Expressions
To write square root
expressions in simplest radical
form.
WEEKLY LESSON PLAN
Setting the stage:
Students will check the hw and
discuss the difficult questions
Focusing the event
Students will recognize perfect
square in numerical and
algebraic expression. Ask them
to write the prime factorization
of the number in exponents
form and change the odd
exponents into event and odd
and to get the square root by
dividing the powers by 2.
Closure:
Students will solve selected
questions in Pb. pg. 222 under
the facilitator supervision
H.w.: complete Pb. pg. 222
odd numbers
Quiz 5.6 and 6.3
Tuesday
23/2
(Continue overleaf if necessary)
Quiz to assesse:
1-To solve system of linear
equation in two variables
algebraically by using
addition or subtraction to
eliminate one variable
2- To determine if two lines
are parallel or perpendicular
using the slope
3- To write the equation of a
line that is parallel or
perpendicular to a given line
2015-2016
Question techniques.
The Students will discuss the
properties of factorization and
square roots
INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY SCHOOL
Wednesday
24/2
(Continue overleaf if necessary)
9.5 Pythagorean theorem
The students will apply
Pythagorean theorem
WEEKLY LESSON PLAN
Setting the stage:
The students will draw the
right angle triangle and recall
the name of its sides
Focusing the event
The students will draw the
roof and identify the peak of
the roof the distance from the
roof peak to the roof edge and
the distance from the roof
peak to the attic floor..
The
students
determine
which side is the hypotenuse
and their lengths then they
will
apply
Pythagorean
theorem to find the missing
length.
The students should provide
the side length of the right
and left side.
Ask the students to measure
the side length of the class
and find the diagonal of the
class and the playing area.
Closure:
Students will apply the
pathygerean theorem to solve
the pb. pg. 229
H.w. pg. 229
2015-2016
Question techniques.
The Students will discuss
the different sides of right
triangle and how to
calculate them.

Readings:
Details of Summative
Assessment:
Using the converse of
Pythagorean theorem
WEEKLY LESSON PLAN
Setting the stage:
Recall Pythagorean theorem
Focusing the event
Students will discuss the fact
that Pythagorean Theorem is
an if and only if statement.
Hence, if the relationship
A2+b2=c2 then the triangle is
a right triangle.
Closure:
Solve the pb. pg 230.
H.w. pb. pg. 230
Students had to prepare a power point presentation to explain solving system of equation and Pythagorean theorem
Students must provide charts to illustrate how to solve system of linear equation.by elimination and Pythagorean theorem.
