Client VMware, Inc, USA Business Unit MWSOA VMware, Inc. (NYSE: VMW) is the leading provider of virtualization software. The company was founded in 1998 and is based in Palo Alto, California. The Company is majority owned by EMC Corporation. The Continuous Application Availability (CAA) project was commissioned to include the assessment of the current systems and outline a feasible solution to keep some of the core customer related functionality up and running during extended downtimes. The core focus is to increase the uptime during planned outages and to some extent on un-planned outages. The CAA has been renamed to Portal re-engineering which has major challenging objectives as below 1. 2. 3. Eliminate downtime of the portals during the planned downtime of the Oracle E-Business Suite (referred to as EBS throughout the documentation) Due to VMware’s acquisition of Spring Source, move the entire portal from the current Web Logic deployment to Spring Source tc Server. Define a Foundational Architecture (Reference Architecture) and base our solutions on this reference architecture Current Architecture of the project is of Multitier in nature and Largely Virtualized. My Role in the Project: Being the DB-Technical Lead n’ Architect, my involvement in this project is to create a cutting edge value to the project as well as to the organization under the mission critical backend process of Oracle 10g with the help of my multidimensional potential.
