SAFETY FEATURES
AUTOMATIC DISCONNECTION OF CAPACITORS BY INTERNAL OVER-PRESSURE
DISCONNECTOR TO AVOID EXPLOSION. THE OIL TYPE CAPACITORS WILL EXPLODE
WITHOUT THESE PRESSURE DISCONNECTORS.
CAPACITORS ARE PROVIDED WITH SPRING LOAD PATENTED TERMINALS WHICH
ENSURES PROPER CONNECTION DURING THE LIFE OF THE CAPACITORS.
THE SPRING ARE DESIGNED TO ACT AS ADDITIONAL INDUCTOR TO SUPPRESS THE
INRUSH CURRENTS.
THE DRY TYPE CONSTRUCTION IN VACCUM SEALED ENCLOSURE ENSURES HIGHER
DIELECTRIC STRENGTH, THEREBY INCREASING THE HUMAN SAFETY.
THE CONNECTION JOINTS ARE WELDED IN ROBOATIC ACTION TO AVOID ANY LOOSE
CONNECTION AND IMPROPER JOINTS.
SALIENT & UNIQUE FEATURES
PATENTED TERMINALS
FRAKO’s Power Capacitor Terminals are patented internationally. These terminals are of spring
loaded type. Internally fixed stainless steel alloy spring ensures tight fitting of the wires and cables
for ever. It avoids the possibility of loose connection of cables at the terminals which creates
sparks and erosion. A regular capacitor terminal with stud and bolted with spring washer loosens
itself over a period due to the expansion and contraction created by the electric heat. FRAKO
Capacitor’s spring also acts as an Inductor to suppress the in-rush current which the capacitor will
experience during switching ON.
DRY MINERAL FILLER
FRAKO Power Capacitors are impregnated with dry mineral filler. The chemical formula of this dry
mineral filler is unique, developed by FRAKO. Due to this special dry mineral filler, the high
temperature withstanding capacity of FRAKO Capacitors from –40C to +75C are achieved.
MANUFACTURING PROCESS
FRAKO has developed a proprietory manufacturing and finishing process for the capacitor coils,
with which it could achieve a high over current withstanding capacity, twice its rated current
permanently and 350 times its rated current for shorter durations. The purity of material being
used, added to the manufacturing and finishing process of the capacitor coils ensures this, prime,
over current withstanding capacity.

Mineral Filler Capacitors with features matching to the Indian operating conditions.
•Specific suitability for Individual Voltage Harmonic withstand limits.

resistors.
•Special Vaccum manufacturing process of winding, soldering, sealing arrangements to
avoid any impurity.
•Internal Pressure Disconnectors for Safety.
•Special Anti Loosening Terminal connector with patented spring loaded contacts for
maintenance free connection.
•Provided with Integrated Discharge Resistors which guarantee a discharge to 50 VAC within
one minute against IEC 831 Standard of 75 VAC in three minutes.
