Job Title: Business Development Executive Responsible to: Sales & Marketing Senior Manager Part Time: Full Time, 2-year Fixed Term Contract Location: Bunratty Folk Park. Bunratty Co. Clare Role Purpose The Business Development Executive will be a key member of the Sales and Marketing Department for the Shannon Heritage portfolio of products, services and events. This role requires the Business Development Executive to persuade and influence customers to visit Shannon Heritages visitor attractions, develop and deliver presentations, and to manage advertising and sales promotions to execute sales via traditional and new media channels. Other duties will include management of the Shannon Heritage membership programme, business development and business administration. The Business Development Executive must be willing to work a flexible schedule and available for domestic and overseas travel to current and potential clients, trade shows or events, which may involve occasional overnight stays. The Business Development Executive must create maximum awareness, domestically and internationally, of the expanding Shannon Heritage portfolio of attractions. Principal Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities Customer Engagement: • Sales calls to trade, corporate, educational and general customers. • Lead/participate in familiarization trips, site inspections, trade shows, events and exhibitions both on and off-site as required. • Communicate new and existing product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback both internally and externally to customers and clients. • Develop and implement sales activities for special events as required. • Identify and contact sales prospects and existing accounts as assigned. Follow up on new leads and referrals to execute sales. • Establish and maintain current client and potential client relationships. Meet with clients as the Shannon Heritage representative for the selling and promotion of Shannon Heritage’s portfolio. This role also includes identifying and resolving any client concerns. • Assess the requirements of customers, suggest suitable products and alternative options, and make an excellent sales pitch, ensuring that our consumers feel satisfied with the resultant outcome. • Liaison with the local community and community-based groups. • Develop and liaise with established and new corporate clients. • Deliver excellent customer service. Deliver and maintain innovative marketing campaigns to trade and consumers across a variety of platforms, with a focus on new media channels a priority. Administration: • General office administration duties relating to the sales and marketing, regarding business strategies and client servicing activities. • Sales and marketing budget management; invoice/cost approval; issuing purchase orders; and recording and reconciliation of same. • Distribution of brochures and promotional material as required. • Management of Shannon Heritage’s membership programme. • Content management of all social media platforms, supporting marketing campaigns. • Website content updates and administration of both the main company website and websites the company participates in, e.g. Heritage Island. • Tracking of blogs, Google alerts, Trip Advisor, monthly E-zines etc. • Generate reports, statistics and other business documents as required. Analyzing sales statistics, preparing reports etc. • Effective database management and maximization of the sales outcome from the database. Promotion and Distribution: • Personal sales including sales calls and meeting and greeting clients. • Develop and execute advertising and sales promotions to all market segments for all existing and new products and services as required. • Execute promotional strategies (including online marketing & sales) for selling Shannon Heritage’s portfolio of products & events. • Work with trade partners to develop and execute joint promotions. • Attend Trade Shows and exhibitions as required. Products: • Present and sell Shannon Heritages products and services to current and potential clients. • Prepare presentations, proposals and sales contracts & sales materials • Work with customers and our internal departments to provide new products, services and visitor experiences to all sites. Skills and Experience Required • Highly self-motivated, proactive individual with excellent time management skills. • Sales-driven individual with keen understanding of financial structure, budgeting etc. • Keen marketer with creative skills to deliver innovative campaigns. • Broad experience in all marketing platforms. • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and oral. • A team player who will embrace working in a large dynamic company. • Third level qualification a necessity
