Functioned as advisor and lecturer to a team of Russian experts (narcologists, psychiatrists, psychologists and sociologists) in developing national guidelines for the implementation of psychosocial methods in treatment and rehabilitation of addicts, within the national system of care in the Russian Federation. The project resulted in: Valentik, Yuri& Sirota, Natalia, (2002, eds.). A guidebook on rehabilitation of drug dependent persons. (In Russian language). Moscow: Litera-2000 Publishing,Ministry of Health, Russian Federation & Pompidou Group, Council of Europe. It was distributed to all narcologists and in 2006 reported to be the leading theoretical and practical guide in the field of rehabilitation of drug addicts in Russia. Active in solidarity work with the Palestinian refugees in Lebanon in co-operation with Swedish left-wing organisations and a Palestinian liberation organisation, for the concrete establishment of social medical clinics and for the education of Palestinian health workers in the refugee camps of Shatila, Tel-el-Zataar and Ein-el-Hellwe. This project collapsed in 1976 due to the civil war, which led to massacre on all Palestinian co-workers. In 1971 a medical co-operation also started with the Democratic Peoples Republic of Yemen (South Yemen). This project ended due to a coup d'état.
