Marketing Internship The Marketing Intern will serve an integral role on the United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation’s (USGIF) Marketing and Communications team. Approximately 50 percent of time will be dedicated to the social media presence for USGIF and its official magazine, trajectory, in order to drive web traffic to Foundation websites. The internship will also include assisting the Senior Marketing Manager with creating the social media calendar in relation to the overall marketing plan; researching and summarizing social media ROI; and updating the USGIF website(s). The other 50 percent of your time will be focused on event marketing tasks to include advertising schedule management, mobile app content updates, content for marketing materials, press releases. Other activities may include assisting with marketing for Foundation membership, scholarship program, professional certification, and academic accreditation. Requirements: • • • • • • • Undergraduate or graduate student in the DC metropolitan area or recent graduate with a major in Communications, Digital Marketing, Marketing, English, Journalism, or another relevant area of study. Proficiency and interest in online social networking sites and apps such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, Pinterest, etc. Creative and strong initiative Ability to multi-task and juggle priorities Solid writing, proofreading, and editing skills Knowledge of or interest in non-profits or trade associations is a plus Knowledge of or interest in the field of geospatial intelligence is a plus The hours for this position are flexible, requiring at least 6 hours per week, preferably two, four-hour days.
