Supplies–Studentsneedtobringapenorpencilandaspiralnotebookorsectioninathreeringbinderthathasplentyof notebookpapertoclasseveryday. ClassroomGuidelines– • BePrompt–Allstudentsneedtobeintheirassignedseatwhenthebellrings. • BePrepared–Allstudentsneedtobringallassignmentsandmaterialstoclass.Homeworkisdueatthe beginningofthehour. • BeRespectful–Allstudentsareexpectedtotreatothersasyouwishtobetreated.Disrespectforothers orforyourselfwillnotbetolerated. • FollowSchoolRules–Allschoolrulesasfoundinyourplannerwillbefollowed.Ifindoubt,checkyour planner. Grading–Gradeswillbecomprisedofpreparationforperformances,quizzes,writtenreviews,originalscripts,andresearch papers.Thegradingscalewillbebasedonthepercentageofpointsearned. 100-90%=A 89-80%=B 79-70%=C 69-60%=D 59-0%=F ParticipationPoints–Studentswillearn5pointseveryday(10pointsonseminardays)forparticipationinactingactivities. Itisnotpossibletomakeuptheseactivities,butstudentscanmakeupthepointsintwoways: • Studentscantakeadvantageoftheunlimitedextraforseeingshowsinthecommunity.Thisisworth25pointsper play.Thereisnolimittothisformofextracredit.Seetherequirementsunder“extracredit.” • Studentscanreadafull-lengthplayfromoneoftheclassroomtextbooks.Studentswillalsohavetocompleteareview sheetfortheplay.Theplaymustbeonethestudentshavenotreadbefore.Thisisworth25points.Thescriptreview worksheetislocatedonthetheatrewebsite. OutofClassAssignment–StudentsarerequiredtoattendthetwotheatreproductionsatOlatheSouthduringsemesterand completeaplay/musicalreviewsheetforeachshow.Thelistofshowsanddatescanbefoundonthe“Shows”pageofthetheatre website:www.olathesouththeatre.org.StudentsenrolledinanOlatheSouththeatreclasscanattendthefinaldressrehearsalof eachshowforfree.Youwillneedtoattachyourprogramandticketstubtotheplay/musicalreviewsheet.Theseareduebythe Mondayafterthefinalperformanceofeachshow.Eachplay/musicalisworth25points.Ifyouattendthefinaldressrehearsal orifyouareintheshow(cast/crew),youdonotneedtoattachtheticketstubandprogram,butyoustillhavetocompletethe reviewsheet. ExtraCredit-Studentswillearn25pointsforeachadditionalplayormusicaltheyattendduringthesemester.Toearnthese points,studentsmustbringaprogramandticket,completeaplay/musicalreviewsheet,andbewillingtodiscussthe performancewiththeclass.Thisformofextracreditisunlimited.Theperformancereviewworksheetislocatedonthetheatre website.
