In commemoration of this memorandum, the two organizations are planning to hold a joint symposium in Beijing, China in October 2007, attended by directors of the two organizations. The Institute exchanged a memorandum of cooperation just like this with the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) in April 2006, signed by Director-General Miyamura and Director OH Dae-kyu. China CDC and KCDC have already worked in collaboration since their memorandum of September 2004, so closer communication among these 3 organizations in Japan, China, and Korea is expected in the future.
