Spelling Menu 2nd Quarter Choose one of the activities below to practice your spelling words. Mark it off after you use it. Practice activities are due on Wednesdays of regular weeks. Do all of your work neatly. Fall Scene Draw and color (with crayons or colored pencils) a picture of fall. Think of squirrels, thanks giving, scarecrows, etc. Then go back and hide each of your words in your scene with a marker. Be neat and creative! Connect the Dots Write each of your words in dots. Then connect the dots with your pencil or crayon. Look Alikes Write each word down one side of your paper. Write another word next to each one that has a similar spelling pattern. (WKST) Exercise your Words Have someone tell you the words - then spell each one while you do jumping jacks, running in place, or some other exercise. Cut off the bottom of this paper and turn it in. Swirly Words Write each of your spelling words around the swirly. Words can be done in color if you would like. Write your words until you reach the end of the line. ( WKST) Silly Sentences Use each word in a sentence. Try to begin most of the words with the same letter. Your sentences still have to make sense. Underline the spelling word. Ex: Purple people pass plums on planes. (WKST) Word Search Go to www.puzzlemaker.com. Enter your spelling words and click on “create.” Print out the word search, find all your words, and turn it in! Criss Cross Write your words on grid paper connecting each one with a common letter. Be careful not to make any nonsense words! (WKST) Money Words Write each word. Add up how much each word is worth. (WKST) Roll-a-Word Use a 6-sided die to tell what to do with each spelling word. Write each word 3 times. (WKST) Computer Time Type your word three times on the computer using whatever font, size, or color you choose. Print it out and turn it in. In the Spotlight Put the vowels in the spotlight. Write each word two times.. Then go back and highlight the vowels in all of the words.
