SYLVANIA QUICKTRONIC T5
ballasts operate PENTRON T5
lamps at various power levels to
offer a wide range of T5 lighting
solutions. The system includes
SYLVANIA’s new MULTISTEP
controllable ballasts that are
designed to be used with
SIMPLY5 lighting components.
MULTISTEP ballasts are
specially designed to meet
energy codes such as California
Energy Commission’s Title 24
requirements for multi-level
lighting controls. The lamp and
ballast combination offers seven
lighting levels for T5 fixtures and
all the high performance features
that are standard on SYLVANIA’s
Professional Series of ballasts.
QUICKTRONIC T5 ballasts
contain QUICKSENSE
technology, a patented circuitry
designed to shut down the
system reliably and safely when
lamps reach end-of-life.

QUICKTRONIC MULTISTEP
ballasts were developed in
partnership with lighting industry
experts to form an integrated
lighting system that provides
unprecedented performance,
flexibility and ease of use. This
breakthrough technology, termed
SIMPLY5, delivers controllable
lighting that is simple to install
and operate.
SIMPLY5 system components
are furnished with mated
connections for fast, error-free
installation and start-up. Intuitive
wall switches smoothly direct
this system to any one of seven
discrete preset lighting levels,
ranging from 100 to 3%.

For optimal dimming performance, fluorescent lamps may
require seasoning up to 100
hours prior to dimming to the
lowest light levels.

simple. Just plug in desired
extensions of additional fixtures
and wall switches to adapt to
changes in your environment.
SIMPLY5 system components
are perfectly matched to
eliminate any concerns with
compatibility or reliability. Gone
are the days of complex wiring
and commissioning schemes
that often require specialized
integrators to configure and
troubleshoot devices from
multiple suppliers.
The MULTISTEP ballasts also
incorporate high-performance
features of Universal voltage,
PROStart and QUICKSENSE.
Universal voltage technology
provides operation from 120V
through 277V, 50 or 60Hz, eliminating “wrong voltage” wiring
errors and reducing the number
of models in inventory by half.
PROStart technology optimizes
lamp starting conditions to
provide up to 100,000 switching
cycles before lamp replacement
becomes necessary. This
provides for full compatibility with
occupancy sensors and building
control systems.
QUICKSENSE technology helps
to protect against overheating
bases and sockets, as well as
cracking of the glass wall, as
lamps reach the end of useful life.
It also features dynamic lamp
sensing to avoid false shutdowns
caused by some static sensing
methods. QUICKSENSE
technology will auto reset when
the lamps are replaced with
new ones.
