C. INDICATORS OF LEARNING 3.6.1 Mention the organ that make up the digestive system with critical and cooperative. 3.6.2 Explain process the human digestive with independently and responsibility. D. LEARNING OBJECTIVES 1. Students can mention the organ that make up the digestive system 2. Students can explain the process of digestion in the human body. E. MATERIAL The digestive system breaks food down into molecules the body can use. Proteins are split into amino acids. Carbohydrates are reduced to simple sugars. Fats are split into glycerol and fatty acids. These nutrients are then absorbed into the blood and transported to all the cells of the body. The digestive system is a group of organs that takes in and digests food, and eliminates solid wastes. The organs of digestive system are the mouth, pharynx, esophagus, stomach, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, large intestine, small intestine, appendix, rectum, anus. 1. Chemical digestion begins in the mouth with salivary amylase in saliva splitting complex carbohydrates into simple carbohydrates. 2. The pharynx the next destination for food you've eaten. From here, food travels to the esophagus. 3. By means of a series of contractions, called peristalsis, the esophagus delivers food to the stomach. 4. The stomach is a sac-like organ with strong muscular walls. The stomach secretes acid and powerful enzymes that continue the process of breaking down the food. From there the food moves to the small intestine. 5. Small Intestine consist of three segments, the duodenum, jejunum, and ileum. The small intestine continues the process of breaking down food by using enzymes released by the pancreas and bile from the liver. 6. Muscles push these waste products into the large intestine. The large intestine absorbs water and any remaining nutrients and changes the waste from liquid into stool. The final section of the large intestine, terminating at the anus. The anus stores stool until it pushes stool out of the body during a bowel movement. F. APPROACH / STRATEGY / LEARNING METHOD 1. Approach : Scientific learning 2. Method : Explanation, answer and question, discussion 3. Model : Problem Based Learning G. EQUIPMENT, MEDIA AND RESOURCES 1. Equipment: LCD, laptop, material 2. Media: a) Picture of the digestive tract b) Power point c) Worksheet 3. Learning Resources : a. Karim, Saeful. 2009. Membuka Cakrawala Alam Sekitar Untuk Kelas VII. LEARNING ACTIVITIES Steps of Problem Based Activity Description of Activity Time Learning Open the 1. Teacher orient Creating a situation (Stimulation) 5 minutes lesson students on issues Concentration: a. Teacher greeting and open class with prayer b. Teacher give students the attention and motivation to follow the spirit of the lesson c. Teacher presents the objectives and benefits of studying the digestive system d. Teacher give apperception “are you fasting today? And then have you ever had predawn meal? And what do you feel if you not pre-dawn meal and not eaten all the day? Why? What the reason?” Core Activity Close lesson 2. Teacher organize students to learn 3. Teacher guide students in group investigation to gather the appropriate information 4. Students Develop and present worksheet 5. Teacher and students analyze and evaluate the problem solving process Observe : 15 Students watch the picture minutes about the digestive tract Ask : What is the digestion of food? What are the organs that contribute in the digestive system? Explore : Students make a group consist of 3 to 4 students Students explore knowledge by picture Association : Each group received a different digestive organs Students discuss in groups about the digestive process that occurs in the organ Communication : Students present the results of discussions the 6. Teacher and students a. Students and teacher review the 5 minutes conclude the material results of learning activities b. Teacher give rewards (ex, praise or other relevant form of respect) to the group that performs well c. Teacher and students conclude the material I.
