Research Scientist in Emerging Infectious Diseases
The Vaccine and Infectious Disease Organization-International Vaccine Centre (VIDO-InterVac), a
research institute at the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Canada, is seeking a Research
Scientist to establish a research program in the field of emerging infectious diseases and vaccine
development. VIDO-InterVac is a pre-eminent research institute with its primary focus on microbial
pathogenesis and vaccine development against both human and animal pathogens. VIDO-InterVac
currently has over 150 staff and state-of-the art facilities including the International Vaccine Centre
(InterVac), one of the most advanced containment level III facilities in the world consisting of both
laboratories and animal isolation suites. For further information please review the VIDO-InterVac

We are looking for an outstanding individual who has a strong background in infectious diseases,
host-pathogen interactions, immunology and vaccinology, with experience in working with large
animal disease models. The successful candidate is expected to build a strong, independent and
externally-funded research program in emerging infectious disease including the study of hostpathogen interactions, disease transmission and development and evaluation of novel mitigations
strategies.
