keep informed of current and upcoming activities and events.
A point grading system is used. Each assessment, whether it is classwork,
homework, a quiz, a test, a project, etc., is worth a specified number of points. At
the end of each marking period, a student’s accumulated points will be divided by
the number of total points possible.
Example: 540/600 = 90%

HOMEWORK AND GRADING POLICIES:
Please refer to the 2010-2011 Hollidaysburg Area Secondary Schools
Student/Parent Handbook.
WEEKLY ASSIGNMENT SHEETS:
Weekly assignment sheets are distributed in homeroom at the beginning of each
week. Assignments are recorded daily. If there isn’t an assignment, we will
record what was done in class that day and indicate that there is no homework.

WEEKLY ASSIGNMENT SHEETS (cont.):
Weekly assignment sheets are collected and graded each week. If you lose your
assignment sheet, a few extras are available in the team homerooms or one can
be downloaded from my web page.
When absent, use the Make-Up Work bulletin board in order to copy
assignments missed.
CLASSROOM RULES:
Please refer to the 2010-2011 Hollidaysburg Area Secondary Schools
Student/Parent Handbook.
In addition, each world history class creates its own Classroom Constitution
that is posted in the classroom and on my web page. This is done near
Constitution Day which is September 17th.
MAILBOXES:
Each student is provided a mailbox. Please check your mailbox daily, preferably
before class begins, to pick up any papers needed that day. If you forget to
check your mailbox before class begins, wait for an appropriate time to retrieve
your papers. Sometimes you may have to wait until the end of class.
When you return from an absence, check your mailbox for papers passed out
during your absence. Remember you have the number of days absent plus one
to make-up your work.
STUDY ASSISTANCE:
If a student needs study assistance, please contact me by phone or e-mail to
arrange a time for additional instruction.
POSTCARDS (Optional):
A postcard bulletin board is kept of students travels anywhere in the state,
country, or world. Bring in a postcard of the site visited, and it will be displayed
on the bulletin board.
