Classified into two;
a.Pure Substance
b.Mixture
Pure Substance
•It is the simplest and purest form of
matter.
•They are made up of only one
particular kind of matter.
•They have definite chemical
composition.
•A pure substance is either an
element or compound.
Mixture
• A substance which is made up of two or
more substances that are not
chemically united.
• They may combine physically in any
proportion.
• The substances can still be recognized
and they can be separated by physical
means.
Mixture is classified into;
a.Homogeneous
• When all the parts of the mixture have
the same uniform appearance and
properties.
• They are called solutions.
a.Heterogeneous
• When all the parts of the mixture
can be identified
