Teaching the Environment in World History Thematically
Students of world history can sometimes feel overwhelmed by the
sheer amount of information presented to them. Focusing instruction
on themes can help students consolidate learning by bridging the
familiar and the new, the past and the present. This workshop will
present new strategies for teaching world history thematically in a
variety of classroom settings.

Candice Goucher, Professor of History, Washington State University
