RAWLEIGH E. MORELAND DIRECTOR / CASTING DIRECTOR/FILM,TV, THEATRE Rawleigh Moreland has over 25 years of experience directing as well as casting for theater, independent and industrial films and television. Perhaps recently best known for his association with Stark Naked Productions a New York based Casting Agency, he has also been recognized as an educator in some of the more prestigious schools in the country. Currently directing, Rawleigh is in production for the SAG experimental movie Another Time by award winning writer Ralph Pape. Independently, Mr. Moreland produced and co-directed the SAG feature film, The DJ starring John Fleming and Claudette Sutherland for Suncrest Films. He has served as on line producer / casting director on numerous other films and industrials, working with producers such as Shepard Associates (CA) and Richard Shankman. Recent theatrical casting in conjunction with Stark Naked /Elsie Stark includes the Broadway hit Latinologues as well as the Off Broadway hit musical, Four Guys Named Jose...and a Mujer Named Maria. Mr. Moreland worked for many years in New York developmental theatre. At The Writers Theater (Linda Laundra, Artistic Director) and The Open Eye: NEW STAGINGS (Joseph Campbell / Jean Erdman, Founders) he developed, directed, cast and produced numerous projects. During this time he was privileged to collaborate with such artists as Bruce Paltrow; Blythe Danner; Josie DeGuzman; Don Chastain; Walter Bobbie; John Whitesell; Richard Hughes and Charlie Segal to name a few. Mr. Moreland has cast hundreds of commercials, voice overs and industrials for the American and Hispanic markets. In his casting work, he works with actors, professional adults, children and models and interfaces daily with creative executives from major New York advertising agencies including 2004 Academy Award winning director Errol Morris. Television clients in conjunction with Stark Naked Productions have included Disney TV; MTV, VH-1 and Nickelodeon . Film casting credits include: The Final Patient with Bill Cobbs , Jan Egleson’s acclaimed film, The Blue Diner; Primary casting for the TV series Breaking Vegas, Discovery Channel’s The Red Badge of Courage, Americas Most Wanted; and All Night Bodega by French director Felix Oliver. Mr. Moreland has also collaborated in the primary casting of up-and-coming independent film makers for The Nuyorican Poets Cafe Fifth Night series and The New York Women In Film script development series. Mr. Moreland holds an M.F.A. in directing from the University of Cincinnati, and B.F.A. in Theater / Television from Valdosta State University. A member of the AEA AFTRA, and The Screen Actors Guild, he also freelances as an actor in film, commercials and industrials. As an actor, he received additional performance training with Robert Moss at Playwrights Horizons Theater School and The School for Film and Television, where he is now a Chair/Senior faculty member.
