Tallahassee, FL, Research Assistant 01/2008 –01/2012
Thermal management/analysis of materials and applications using composites and
nanocomposites. Improved through-thickness thermal conductivity of fiber-reinforced
composites to resolve thermal load issues in electronics and structural applications.
Design and development of composites using carbon nanotube (CNT) yarn and
buckypaper. Equipment manager/supervisor over Laser Flash Apparatus (LFA-457) and
3D printers. Trained and supervised undergraduate and graduate students. Presented
lectures to undergraduate students on Rapid Prototyping.
Supervisor/Chief Technologist: Dr. Zhiyong (Richard) Liang

Eglin AFB, FL, CO-OP Intern (SCEP) 05/2010 – 08/2011
Gain proficiency in binary image processing. Created a MATLAB image processing
graphical user interface (GUI) to aid in cohesive finite element method (CFEM) of
thermo-mechanical response in polymer-bonded explosives (PBX).
Supervisor: Dr. Yasuyuki Horie, Mentor: Dr. David Jeffcoat
Air Force Research Laboratory, Materials and Manufacturing Directorate (AFRL/RX),
WPAFB, OH, Summer Intern (STEP) 05/2009 – 08/2009
Investigated thermal properties of carbon/carbon and carbon nanotube composites;
Improved thermal conductivity in carbon/carbon composites. Develop expertise in
characterization equipment (DSC, LFA, IR Thermal Imaging, AFM, XPS, and HRSEM)
Supervisor/Mentor: Dr. Angela Campbell
