 Insurance Options
Health Care (Available to FULL TIME & 30 hour employees):
The City offers its employees health care benefits and pays 100% of the eligible employee’s premium.
Employees choosing additional coverage for family members, pay the premium in bi-weekly payroll
deductions, with an option to pre-tax the deduction.
Dental Care (Available to FULL TIME & PART TIME (30 & 20 hour) employees):
All eligible employees may select a dental plan and may also elect dependent coverage. All dental
premiums (employee or dependent coverage) can be paid with pre-tax dollars through payroll
deduction.
Vision Care (Available to FULL TIME & PART TIME (30 & 20 hour) employees):
All eligible employees may select a supplemental vision plan and may also elect dependent coverage. All
vision premiums (employee or dependent coverage) can be paid with pre-tax dollars through payroll
deduction.
Life Insurance & Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance
(Available to FULL TIME employees):
The City of Altamonte Springs provides Term Life Insurance to all eligible employees. Should death occur,
whether on or off the job and while insured, an amount equal to one times the annual salary (rounded to
the nearest $1,000) will be paid to the designated beneficiary. This plan is a benefit (no cost) to eligible
employees. Employees may also purchase additional insurances (rates vary based on age, salary and amount
of insurance purchased):
 Additional Life Insurance
 Spouse Life Insurance
 Child Life Insurance
Disability Insurance (Available to FULL TIME & PART TIME (30 hour) employees):
Eligible employees may select an income protection plan that allows employees to purchase a benefit equal
to a percentage of his/her weekly/monthly salary in the event of an accident or illness that results in temporary
or permanent disability. The cost of these insurances is based on the age and income of the employee.
