The “Lone Pair” of electrons
A lone pair of electrons refers to a pair of electrons that originate from the
same atom that are not involved in a covalent bond.
Dative covalent bond
Refers to a covalent bond where the electron pair in the bond originate from
the same atom (as opposed to the “normal” one electron shared from each
atom in the bond)
