Posted by Cristina Nika Kask on January 29, 2016 at 4:40am View Blog Statistics has shown that the number of people undergoing cosmetic procedures is increasing every year. The main reason for this is that people have become more image-conscious than they have ever been before. In a sea of different cosmetic procedures, a couple of them have been shown to be the most popular in the United States. 1. Breast augmentation Breast enlargement restores or increases the size of breasts with the help of silicone implants. Moreover, it can also be done by transferring fat from certain parts of your body. The main reason why women reach for this surgery is to enhance their looks and give their figure the more balanced look. The most important thing is to choose the good clinic that will provide you with the best surgeon who will be able to do the procedure safely and properly. Aside from breast augmentation, breast lift is another popular procedure usually done by women who have had one or more children. 2. Rhinoplasty Nose reshaping or rhinoplasty is the second most popular surgical cosmetic procedure in the world, including almost 850 000 people who have undergone it. Rhinoplasty concerns removing the skin and altering the bone and cartilage of the nose. Usually a patient stays put for a day or two after the procedure. Post-operative condition includes bruising and swelling, and it is worst in the first three days. Moreover, it can take several weeks for the swelling to go down completely. Bruising, however, disappears approximately in a week. 3. Facelift A facelift is the procedure that stretches the skin up toward the scalp, tightens it, and smooths it all together. The result is a tight, younger looking face. Usually patients over the age of 45 reach for this type of the procedure, due to the loosing of the skin on the face. Swelling and bruising are inevitable after the procedure. While the bruising fades in approximately two weeks, the swelling tends to last longer. Face numbness is also possible, and it can last several weeks. It is paramount a patient rests during the first few days of recovery, and stays away from the sun. More recommended and even safer procedure MACS lift provides a patient with natural look, and it has longlasting results. A sagging neck, lower chin, and cheeks are corrected subcutaneously and only a very small amount of skin is removed. The recovery lasts seven to fourteen days, and scaring is minimal, in the fold in front of the ear. MACS lift is a safe procedure that has very few complications. 4. Eyelid surgery Blepharoplasty improves the appearance of the eyelids. The procedure is done if a patient wants to improve his or her appearance or if there are some functional problems with their eyelids. Furthermore, eyelid surgery can rejuvenate the area around the eyes, which is the main reason why people reach for blerophlasty. However, not only rejuvenation is the reason, but also loose skin that disturbs the natural contour of the upper eyelid causing impairing vision can be the reason for the intervention. 5. Botulinum toxin Minimally invasive cosmetic procedure involves injecting a purified substance derived from bacteria. The most commonly known types of botulinum toxin type A, injections include Botox and Dysport. The injections blocks muscular nerve signals, which then weakens the muscle so it cannot contract. The reason patients opt for this procedure is to remove facial wrinkles. Moreover, botulinum toxin can help smooth skin bands on the neck, frown lines, forehead furrows, and crow’s feet. The number of people who support and choose to do a little nip and tuck is growing by the day. However, everyone who is considering going under the knife should consult a board-certified plastic surgeon before making any decision about the procedure. One’s health and safety are more important than the physical appearance.
