Welcome to the “International Training Course: Take your chance, become active! The
Realisation of Intercultural Youth Exchanges in SEE within the Youth in Action Program. A
Training Course for Young European Faciliators, Peers and Youth Leaders”. We are looking
forward to see you on May 21st in Bačka Palanka, Serbia. To make this Training Course very
successful and enjoyable experience for you and also for us we complied this information guide.

Dear Friends, Partners and Colleagues,
we welcome you to the International Training Course: “Take your chance, become active! The Realisation of
Intercultural Youth Exchanges in SEE within the Youth in Action Program. A Training Course for Young
European Faciliators, Peers and Youth Leaders”, May 21 st – May 29th Bačka Palanka, Serbia. Following you
find a description of the venue, how to reach Bačka Palanka and all necessary information on the program.
Furthermore you’ll find a short compendium of the TC, the respective maximum of travel expenses and a

Participants and Travel costs:
Please be aware: DON’T buy your tickets before 1st of April!
70% of the travel costs (s.a.) will be reimbursed on the basis of the cheapest possibilities, e.g. second class
railway tickets, APEX-flights etc upon the presentation of all original tickets and receipts. Missing tickets will
not be reimbursed. Maximum travel costs for ONE participant per organisation from home town to Bačka
Palanka and back:

Accomodation and Catering
Boarding and lodging will be provided. We will stay during the TC in the Motel "Poloj”, Čelarevska šuma bb,
21400 Bačka Palanka. You will be accomodated in double and three bed rooms with shower and toilet.
Motel "Poloj" is 5 km away from Bačka Palanka and 34 km from Novi Sad. It is located on the main road
Novi Sad - Bačka Palanka where on the Danube bridge towards village Ilok is the border point with Croatia.

How to reach Bačka Palanka:
Via Belgrade and Novi Sad:
By Airplane
If you come by plane you will arrive at Airport “Nikola Tesla”. There is a regular bus line from the airport to
Belgrade bus and railroad station every hour. Ticket price: approx. 2€. More information:

Buses from Belgrade to Novi Sad going every 20min. Ticket price: approx. 8€. Travel time: 1 hour. You can
already buy your bus ticket to Bačka Palanka in Belgrad. In case you want to make a stop in Novi Sad, take
first the bus to Novi Sad and afterwards the bus from Novi Sad to Bačka Palanka. You can find all

In the bus from Novi Sad to Bačka Palanka ask the busdriver to stop at Motel Poloj. In case the driver won’t
stop, go streight to Bačka Palanka and take a taxi back to Motel Poloj.
Trains from Belgrade to Novi Sad departs every 35-40min. Ticket price: about 5€. Travel time: 2 hour. (Tel:
011-629-400 and 011-636-493). In the Main Train Station you can buy the tickets to Novi Sad and Bačka
Palanka.
More possibilities how to reach Bačka Palanka:
You can also come by bus directly to Bačka Palanka via Novi Sad resp. via Belgrade: from all european
bigger cities you can catch the buses of “Eurolines”. More information: http://eurolines.com/
You can also come via Budapest: Take a “cheap” flight to Budapest and from Budapest the train or bus
directly to Novi Sad. From Novi Sad take the bus as described above.
Money
The domestic currency is the Dinar (1€ = approx. 80 Dinar ). You can exchange money in banks in
Belgrade, Novi Sad & Bačka Palanka.
Scheduling
As you can see already in the schedule, the program of our common TC is quite intensive. Following the
aims and objectives of the TC, we expect from all participants intensive cooperation. For the International
Organisation’s Fair, please, bring materials (posters, postcards, flyers, written documents, CD-ROMs and/or
other audio/visual materials) about your organisation, your work and previous projects with you to present
your organisation to the other participants. Concerning the Intercultural Evening, we ask you to bring
something which represents how your culture relates to other cultures (e.g. a poem, an object, a song, a
fairytale, a prepared dance performance, a game, etc. - so something that explains how your culture deals
with other cultures). Feel free to bring a culinary specialty (food or drink) from your culture as well. It should
be something that does not need to be cooked. The “events” could be accompanied by music and short
performances - be creative!
Please submit the attached registration form and inform us as soon as possible about your travel
costs, arrival time, as well as your departure time after the TC.

Content and program
Summary:
The aim is to realize a Training Course for potential partners of Action 3 – Youth Exchanges projects in the
frame of the new Youth Program “YOUTH in ACTION”. The TC focused on development of
cooperation between Program countries and Partner countries from SEE and wants to stimulate the creation
of new project ideas within Action 3. The objectives are

To get to know with possibilities of cooperation between Program and Partner countries from SEE

To train in project management within Action 3
