Examination: Final paper
Intercultural Communication: Media, Arts and Literature
1) Choose a subject for your paper. You may choose freely, but the subject should have
a connection to different media, art or literature and containing intercultural
perspectives. Suitable subjects can be for example a film, a painting, or a book about
cultural differences; an artist, writer or filmmaker that treat cultural meetings in
his/her work; you are also welcome to propose other suitable subjects. E-mail your
proposed subject to [email protected] before you start writing.
2) Start by witing a short introduction to your subject. If it is a story that you are
analysing write a short summary (max 1 page). In your analysis you have to use
theoretical concepts from the course literature. Incorporate and discuss 2 concepts
from Gauntlett and 2 concepts from Marks in your analysis. Choose at least 3 articles
from the Compendium as references to use in your analysis.
3) The analysis is a reflection about the chosen subject where you seek to find a
meaning, or present an interpretation of the intercultural perspectives.
4) The paper should be 8-10 A4-pages, Times 12 points, and line spacing 1,5. Deadline
is on the 13th of January 2012, 23.59.
