Purpose of Role:
To provide a warm, friendly, professional and customer-focused welcome
To ensure that the reception provides a service that is delivered in a manner which fully supports the
College identity and mission.
To provide information to a range of clients including prospective and existing students, visitors and other
enquirers.
Duties and Responsibilities
 Provide the first line of response to telephone and personal callers seeking information about the
College. Response will include provision of information on: courses, application forms, prospectuses,
open days, events, school visits, special lectures, etc
 Identify and communicate with individuals in the College or University who are able to respond to
specific, detailed enquiries where such information is not available at reception.
 Welcome guests and issue visitor security passes including temporary security passes for students
and staff as necessary.
 Ensure the Reception area is maintained in a tidy condition with adequate supplies of literature

 To perform such duties consistent with your role as may from time to time be assigned to you
anywhere within the University
 To occasionally be asked to work in other student/visitor facing roles in academic registry or student
services
 To undertake health and safety duties and responsibilities appropriate to the role

 To undertake continuous personal and professional development, and to support it for any staff you
