PPG Members
New members are being encouraged to join the group. Unfortunately most were
unable to attend today. So we hope to see them at our next meeting.
Mr and Mrs Mistry attended as new patient participants and were welcomed to the
group.
Minutes of the last meeting were reviewed and discussed to enable our new
members to familiarise themselves with this group.
Friends and Family Test
This test is an on-going requirement for all practices. Reception staff continue to
encourage patients to complete the form. Nurses have also been asked to ask
patients if they will kindly complete a form at reception.
Our feedback results are also very positive and again we achieved 100% in
February. Staff are given feedback on the comments received.
CQC Audit
The surgery had a CQC Inspection on the 15th December 2015. We are very proud
to announce we have received our report and we were awarded – GOOD, on
everything. The full report is available to view on the CQC website, a summary of our
results will be added to our website, NHS choices and is also available to see on our
notice board in the reception area. Well done to all our team.
Infection Control Annual Audit
The surgery underwent the annual infection control audit on 13th January 2016. We
achieved a general audit score of 100% which is the Gold Standard Award. There
are 41 practices within the Wolverhampton area only 3 of which achieved the Gold
Standard Award
Nurse
Marie was welcomed as our newest recruit to the practice in May 2015.
With the recruitment of a second Nurse our nursing hours have now doubled
enabling the practice to manage the working population much more easily.
Also Marie has been going out to housebound patients and reviewing their
conditions. This has improved our patient care, which is one of our aims.
Patient Access
Patient access has been available to our patients for the last year. This allows
patients to book appointments and order repeat medications online.
From 31st March 2016 all practices are required to release coded information of the
patients medical record. Enabling this will allow patients to view the coded element
of their medical records. No free text or documents will be available to view.
DNA
We continue to audit the `Did Not Attend` appointments.
Frequent non-attenders are spoken to regarding this it is explained that continuing to
do this is not acceptable. We try to encourage these patients to join up to Patient
Access which will allow them to cancel any appointments they no longer require.
EPS
We went live with EPS on the 28th January 2016. The Electronic Prescription Service
(EPS) is an NHS service. It will allow prescriptions authorised by the doctor to be
sent directly to the pharmacy. The feedback from both patients & staff has been very
positive.
Patient Survey
A Patient Survey has been completed. Results from the 2015 and 2016 surveys
were given to the meeting, copies attached. It was noted that there were only slight
changes to results from last year but all results continue to be positive.
Rapid Response Team
A new service has become available to Drs who wish a patient to be seen by a
community matron within 2 hours. This will hopefully prevent patients from needing
hospital admission. Specialised nurses review the patient at home and access their
condition within 2 hours of receiving the referral. They can prescribe medication and
put into place anything that is required ie: care etc. The team then informs our GP of
the visit and outcomes.
