Excellence in Acute Cardiac Treatment
course
One day a week for 5 consecutive weeks
Fridays: 19th May, 26th May, 2nd June, 9th June, 16th June
Exam and OCSEs: Friday, 16th July.
09.30 am to 5.00 pm
Venue: The Academy, Great Western Hospital , Swindon.
This intensive course is appropriate for Registered Nurses and Allied Healthcare
Professionals who work with cardiac patients and are passionate about improving their care.
The course includes theory and practical skills linked to the anatomy, physiology and
pathophysiology of the cardiac system, as well as interventions, diagnostics, management ,
care planning and rehabilitation.
The course runs over five weeks, which includes a written examination and OSCEs at the end
There is an expectation that students will devote time to study in their own time as revision
of learning will be necessary to achieve successful completion of the assessments.
There is a pre-course requirement that you will complete a workbook on ECG recording and
a Training Tracker assessment prior to the start of the course.
