Key Considerations:
1. Technology ROI - Primary $$ savings opportunities typically
schedule and/or GC’s related.
2. Project Executives must be able to conceptualize the use of the new technology and evaluate
cost/benefits relative to their baseline plan.
Staffing plans/GC's are developed by Project Execs based primarily on past experience/similar
projects…therefore they are the only one’s who really understand the baseline scenario.
3. Conceptualizing how to leverage technologies to deliver projects "better, faster, cheaper" is a skill
that requires a progressive minded Project Executive.
4. BU Leadership needs to challenge Px’s to “leverage technologies to drive safer and more
productive workflows”.
Technology – Key Considerations
1. The platform will not be perfect and will continuously evolve as
technologies evolve and as Trimble advances it’s integration
strategy.

Year 1 – VICO’s 4D, 5D, and BIM viewer capabilities, RFID/Bar Code integration
with Prolog.
1-3 Year Expected features/integration capabilities…closed loop historical data
capture, VICO-Prolog integration, field progress data capture.
3. Point Solutions versus Platform Components
▪ The market will continue to have a multitude of point solutions with very
good “bells and whistles”
▪ Comparisons of point solutions with platform components are inevitable
and healthy. However, we need to ensure project teams understand and
keep in view the benefits of the integrated platform before choosing a
point solution over the platform component.
▪ We need to continuously push/help our vendor partner to keep platform
components current with point solutions in the market.
